Doc, 26 Oct 2013The bigger the resolution the smaller the fonts, so more di... moreThat is only partially true.For crisp letters the font should be optimized first,if not resolution may make it tiny or blurry.
Secondly take the e-ink displays for example.In e-readers the resolution is 165~ppi,but reading is flawless even from super close,and even better compared to 400ppi LCDs.
So there is just to many factors which determine what makes one screen good and for what.
Although resolution is one of them,i am not happy with the direction in which the whole mobile industry is going,we"ve already passed some practical limits and i am afraid that marketing hype is taking on its own :/

That unrelated bezel is nice. The resolution is only good if you keep your eyes 4inches from the screen and it's a detriment in every other way, worse gaming performance, worse video experience with resizing, internet with grey bars, battery and UI will struggle harder, and all for nothing.

and yet were stuck with 1080p on a 23" desktop LCD display. Why? Now we have smartphones with ~450ppi but on desktops and laptops we're stuck with 90~150. Seriously?

And maybe because whenever you take a walk down the street you find Samsung ads literally everywhere. You're brainwashed, there's nothing but Samsung inside your head, of course you're going to buy a Samsung.
