Being an Indian user of Canvas HD, I would say NO to MMX..Reason being: Audio output is very poor on headset as well as open. You can clearly guess it by checking out the headset quality. Even calls are not clear. Yes, camera, and performance was ok but there was nothing much in the phone to entertain you. Zero features..I also found problems with the touch. Disaster, it was. Tapping on J would type L..Well no more using it. Sold within a month. Poor Experience. If u think should have get the phn replaced or get it checked by service center then u should first know about MMX service center. I really don't want ppl to waste their money, doesn't matter its Indian or Chinese

It is foolish to compare Micromax with Samsung because Samsung's designs are proprietary, whereas every 2 bit marketing company can resell the same phone MMX sells.

if u think its chinese re branded handset then we should say that even apple and samsung are also chinese. more than 90% of the smartphones r made in china bcos labor and raw material is cheap. if re branding is easy then there would have been mobile companies in thousands.its not easy to setup companies like micromax and xolo. they have their R&D centers in china and india as well

To be honest MMX is gaining momentum and it is the second largest mobile manufacturer in India after Samsung. Yes they might be re branding. Not every thing is Chineese. You wonder Nokia has the second largest manufacturing Unit in the world which is India.
China is assembly unit place where they combine the chipset and other components from different manufacturing companies and make a single product based on different companies demand like Gionee, MMX etc.
India also has the potential to do manufacturing but this is not done because doing so is costlier than China.

I don`t think the odds are in their favor, at least in Romania. Samsung, HTC and Iphone, are too strong on the market and everybody is keeping away from the Chinese b-s#@t, even camouflaged under an Indian brand.
