Anonymous, 09 Dec 2025you underestimate androids market shareAndroid market share has nothing to do with smartphone os share. Just because my 3d printer, my car, and my house thermostat run Android doesnt mean iOS doesnt have the huge majority of the smartphone os share.

I just downloaded PodsLink app. And having even MacBook and iPad with Android, it just works. I would not count Apple TV, I do not see it as part of the ecosystem.

No one needs switching to be easier, they need OPERATING between each other easier. For one, actually allowing Bluetooth file transfer on iOS devices!

I mean, I am using Google apps on my iPhone. And is not even the first time when I do this.
Apple already gives you the possibility to choose the default app in certain situations:
- App Installation - default app App Store. Well, here is clear.
- Email - default app Gmail. I uninstalled Apple Mail. Even though it can be used with Gmail account, I have deleted it all together. Many times when I attached my Gmail account to Apple Mail, notifications didn't came through. Now with the native Gmail app, is working smoothly.
- Messaging - default app iMessage. But I can choose WhatsApp if I wanted. I can't uninstall iMessage though.
- Calling - default app Mobile Services. But I can choose FaceTime Audio or WhatsApp.
- Navigation - default app Google Maps. I have uninstalled Apple Maps. Google Maps is better in every way, especially for public transportation data/schedule.
- Browser - default app Google Chrome. I have uninstalled Safari. Yes, actually is possible to uninstalled Safari on an iPhone. Strangely, is not possible to do it on a Mac for example.
- Translation - default app Google Translate. I have uninstalled iTranslate or something like this, I don't know how is called exactly. Is the built in translator for Safari. Is bad though compared to Google Translate. I have it on my iMac and many times it gives me bad translations (Dutch - English). And when I lived in Czechia, it didn't even had Czech - English possibility.
Basically, what I am trying to say is, you can use iPhone with Google account attached to it and with Google apps.

even GPS to turn it on/off there is no any toggle for it in control center yiu have to go turn it off/on from settings 🤪
