I think that has always been their plan from the start. I mean they used the same auxiliary cameras on the trifold that costs more than 3x the vanilla flagship. There's no hope for them.

Leanzazzy, 10 Dec 2025We need Chinese manufacturers to become more mainstream, on... moreWhat are you talking about? Chinese brands own more than half of the whole smartphone market.

We need Chinese manufacturers to become more mainstream, only when Samsung has serious competition will they actually improve and stop this shameless behaviour of ripping people off for the same hardware for years on end.

My S25 Ultra zoom cameras are so bad at night, they should do something about it, chinese phones are doing better than Samsung in this regards, and even in zoom pics

Completely unacceptable and simply pathetic. I refuse to pay Samsung any more. For the same phone over and over again.

If consumers care they will import a phone like I just did. Had a choice of the base S25, wait for the S26, or import. Coming from iPhone and the Tensor makes the Pixel a non-option. Had to switch carriers but I'm also saving money on that front.

they really putting the blame on apple now, as if it's a sin that they kept the price of their flagships the same while offering improvements in every category? it's like they'll be doing us a favor by increasing the specs for 800 DOLLARS!
people should just upgrade to something like a xiaomi 17 or even the iphone

You mean they'll reuse S20 (ultrawide) and S22 (main and telephoto) cameras lmaoooo
Samsung is so ridiculous. All the other brands make their cameras evolve but Samsung keeps using ancient ass sensors.

WhoCaresTM, 10 Dec 2025Because they have no competition. Only small+lightweight... moreThat's no excuse and they do have competition. Just ripping people off offering same specs for years and people are stupid enough to buy them

It's unclear if that's true, but in a recent article, the S25 series wasn't in the top 10 best-selling smartphones.
The camera performance, which was the biggest selling point for buying one, hasn't improved in several generations, and other features lack innovation.
Samsung's high-end models are now following the same path as Chinese manufacturers and companies other than Apple. Prices are rising but the appeal isn't worth it, just like Sony and Asus.

This was what tempted me away from Samsung before I purchased the S25, and this will definitely make me look elsewhere now. What are they thinking? Oppo and Xiaomi are flying ahead and the multi billion dollar company Samsung being cheap... Ridiculous decision. The same camera module now for 4+ years is unacceptable.

Meanwhile Oppo Find X9 upgrading the cameras over X8 for the exact same price
Also you notice something outside the good value 17? Apple has strengthened their price ladder (16e and 16 are bad value for 599 and 699 for 128GB) now. The Plus was killed in favor of Air, so Apple, knowing most prefer a larger screen have no choice but to go for a Pro Max (the minority would likely go for Air, 16 Pro Max or 15 Pro Max), isn't scared of cannibalising the Pro sales.
Even for people favouring small screen and just need the essentials, a consistent 799 price is apparently better than an inconsistent 599, 699 and 799 buyers whose average then would be slightly lower. Do the math and you'll understand what I mean
