If every company runs to Android the scrapes will be few in the end. Sony is not doing that well and neither is HTC. Only Samsung is doing real well.

Sony is nowhere to be found in world markets yet.
why it's the most popular smatphone brand with gsmarena today.

Nokia would rather die than offer Android models, that's a choice the Finns made, just like the Canadians, and the grim reaper is ready for them. On the other hand, Android kept many phone companies alive - Sony, LG, Alcatel, etc. Even companies with both WP and Android offerings - Samsung, HTC - quickly learn that it's the Android models that push their profits up. Switching to Windows disenfranchised a huge Nokia following (those familiar with the Nokia UI in both Symbian smartphones and feature phones). Many would have welcomed an Android device with the Nokia UI on top (much the same way Samsung has their own Touchwiz UI on top of Android). Instead, they were forced to try "something new" which gave an opening for the loyal users to try out the more popular OSes (they'll be re-learning anyway). The figures today, show the net effect of all these decisions.

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2013The WP8 live tiles are a bit ugly and useless aren't they. ... moreBS detected. Live tiles are capable of showing more info than Android or iOS notification centers can actually show. stuff like your favorite team's scores or your artist's latest concert schedules can show up.

its like RSS meets notification center meets tweetdeck. developers are only starting to scratch the surface of live tiles

                        Everywhere Samsung rules!

Like real Fruitcake. The way Google denied Nokia funding unless they use Google's services? Please, Nokia will never go anywhere by adopting Android with just their own money as they spent too money on Symbian instead of MeeGo.

Also Google disallowing Nokia Ovi (now HERE) services on Android is a big boo-boo for us Nokia users so Microsoft embraced Nokia's proposal of rebranding Ovi to HERE and funded for Nokia to go on for the last two years despite Windows Phone is not well received.

Then Google said sorry to Nokia for disallowing Nokia's services on Android allowing Nokia to develop a working Android prototype it is way too late for Google, Nokia sold their Devices and (Mobile) Services Division to Microsoft and in 2014 Nokia have no rights to make any phone Android or WP until 31 December 2015.
