Personally, I don't see what the big deal is with this announcement. Opera Mini and Opera Mobile already optimize web page viewing, for whatever device they're are running on, without the need for zooming, or side to side scrolling, if one selects the "mobile view" option in the browser settings.

keep sleeping on the g1 and android. I own a g1 and in just a couple of months it has grown by leaps and bounds.....once the cupcake is released this OS is gonna really show some of you superficial, Iphone loving morons what it can really do

the G1 is a prototype at best, i hope some other phone developers pick it up so we can truly see what android can do, because at this rate people will give up, the problem with an open source based OS you need to have devices people actually want to use their software on otherwise whos gonna bother developing it

It should tie in well with the voice search.
