AnonD-145045, 04 Nov 2013I hope Qualcomm comes up with a sixcore processor which wil... moreIf you want Qualcomm to show that more cores do not equal better performance, why would you want them add two more unnecessary cores? Their quadcore Snapdragon 800 is already very competitive with the Octacore Exynos, and at a lower power level. Personally, I will be disappointed if they come out with a hexacore processor.
I hate Apple phones because of iOS and Apple's constant attempts to lock consumers in, but they are the only ones doing mobile CPUs completely right. Manufacturers should focus on fewer, faster cores, since we're not at a place where most apps effectively use more than two cores anyway. Now granted, this is not really Qualcomm's fault, since the Android spec marketing wars mean that even if you know better, you can't really get away with launching a premium Android phone with less than four cores (this is mainly Samsung's fault), but they don't need to exacerbate the situation.

Interesting to say the least I anticipate that the S5 or Samsungs new premimum line phone will carry this chip. I am struggling with the rumour that the S5 will be out so soon after the S4..

I hope Qualcomm comes up with a sixcore processor which will crush the competition's octacore processors, all of which will come out next year! Then I will become a diehard Qualcomm fan, show the world that more cores don't mean better performance like you have always done!!!
Huge expectations.....
