I was expecting to see a difference between the 4.3 an 4.4... I am so disappointed... I need more ram and all my status bar is white... I can't very mad... I have to use eyeglasses now in order to understand witch is icon is what... So ugly... I really hope that Android will change this behavior because I will definitely go to another Operating system and leave all the phones using this ugly technology. If Google is hearing our voice, fire the guys who did this design or a lot of consumers (as per the forums) we'll be oblige to fire you.

Well to be exact it can store and load double ammount of data- but cannot process double ammount of code. Also, 64 bit computing comes really handy when you got to address over 4 gigs of RAM.
Just think back of the PC history. When we got the first 64 bit cpus- programs did not happen to run double speed overnight. No, actually they were a few percent slower...
And about apple: we should not mention how good they are at cpu designs, when they needed to turn to intel for cpus :) :)

I've set ART on my nexus 5. So far 99% of apps are working. This sphone is super fast!

The S4 also has that useless feature so I can take a selfie with duck lips AND a plate of duck in the same photo at the same time.
Watch out Instagram thanks to Samsung things are going to get worse especially when selfies are combined with sickingly cute pictures of pets.

The only OS available at the time was Linux.
It only had 512MB of RAM, in those days that was a lot, off the shelf systems used to only have 128MB.
Just because 64bit CAN address more than 4GB of RAM doesn't mean it HAS to.
64bit means you can shove more data through a CPU in each clock cycle, which is why the A7 beats 32bit multicore CPU's clocked higher with more RAM in most benchmarks.
Apple been in the CPU and OS game for over thirty years, they know exactly what they are doing to get the best out of their combination of software and hardware, while being far more efficient with batteries that are less than half the capacity of their competitors.

Google can fix lag by putting in an Intel i7 and 20GB of RAM on their phones if not just use WP8 and iOS.

Another thing about 64bit is that its pretty useless if your application is not that big. If its instagram, facebook or plants vs zombie 2, chances are you're already good with 32 bit arch.

64 bit architecture will work best if the OS and the programs running on it are optimized for that architecture (64bit OS, 64bit apps). Unix and linux already support 64bit maybe even before android was created. And do you really think these tech companies come up with such advancement in just over a year? It's already been done and these companies are just waiting for the right time, marketing or hardware advancement to announce them to the public.
