Only one phone from Samsung is good for me and that's Note.Only because of s-pen.And Samsung phones are laggy but not because of Android. For me - LG and Sony phones are better.

Apaloeliat2komengw, 12 Nov 2013Samsung has a lot of series, from low to high end, while Ap... moreYes - just as any other android smartphone manufacturer. That is because they want to let people join the smartphone party, they are willing to try to manufacture cheaper devices so also the not so developed countries's people may buy smartphones and have fun as well.
Who told apple not to manufacture cheap iphone. Or not to have 4 - 6 " screen devices. No one. It is their business decision and their market positioning.
But fear not - when they will lose another 4-5 % of market share they will indeed let go of their stubborn business practice and they will also invite plastic :) All of the sudden huge screens and cheap materials will be very very appealing to them. Now the question is only this: what would the hardcore iphone user feel then - this, no one knows as of yet. I am not saying that apple will have no premium device - they will indeed, but they would also have cheap 100 usd plastic phones too - like Iphone S Advanced, or Iphone Ace - lol - sounds good ha? BTW in a years time Samsung and other android smartphone manufacturers will also have premium devices by then... just to make sure - you know.

Samsung has a lot of series, from low to high end, while Apple only a few @_@

v_rex, 12 Nov 2013 sorry again, which is the best selling smartphone? Speaking of manufacturers, currently (august 2013) Samsung sold most devices.

Samu sold 71.38M units - market share: 31.7%
Apple sold 31.9M units - market share: 14.2%

Its also very interesting that apple was able to shrink their market share by 4.6% in a year, while samsung increased their by 2%, and since NONE of the other manufacturers lost market share it is very plain and straightforward: many people went to samsung from apple :) These are real figures not your or my feelings or emotions.

Bluto, 12 Nov 2013Fanboyish comment. Okay, Apple iPhone 5S scores more becaus... moreFerrari not equal to apple. BTW what do you think, who makes more money: Volkswagen or Ferrari.

Samsung and any other android smartphone maker do not want to achieve niche market positions. They want to make money and outsell apple. They succeded.

And by the way: have you ever thought about why you call others Fanboy? Ha? Im 40 years old and im not a frikken child who goes after moods - I buy whatever I think the best for my needs. And so far it was never an iphone when it came to buying a smartphone. I am using an android device because I think it is the best for my work and not because i would be a fan or something. You know for many it is not fashion or lifestyle - lol - grow up kid.

Okay, Apple iPhone 5S scores more because of optimization done by Apple which helps to conserve battery life and let it run smoothly, unlike the Samsung Galaxy phones which just lags because of the buggy TouchWiz, and Ferrari sells less but it's still considered as one of the finest supercars. iPhone 5S is niche market product and not meant for the mass market, that's why the 14% market share worldwide.

Who the hell cares about how much an iphone scores? Their market share is 14 percent - pathetic knowing that basically they invented "smartphone" - or at least they were the first company to bring such a device to success. And what happened in the last 6 years?

So lets just sit back and accept that benchmark scores does not mean a thing when it comes to success. Nor does the ammount of RAM, CPU frequency - who cares about it? No one! Maybe a few geek who has no life. But the other 99% cares about how good is the device for their needs - and the word "need" mean price/performance/design/usability - pretty much everything! And sales numbers do not lie - 86% of the smartphone users around the globe think that there is a better choice than apple....

Tizen and Sailfish, both these operating systems are using Nokia's Here Maps solutions and i can confirm it. Benchmarks doesn't translate into better performance, in the video demo of this OS, the UI looks pretty cheap ugly and because it's resources hungry, this OS lags a lot. There's no need of a beefed-up processor because all it does it make the phone heat to certain extent where you can feel the back warm and heat is an enemy to batteries. There are phone like the Nokia 808 Pureview which can process 38 MP images with a single core processor and even if it has 1400 nah battery, it lasts more days than an Android one. This is the magic of optimization. While i had a bada phone, it was just horrible to use, too much hangs here and there and Tizen was developed by merging that bada OS which Samsung engineers said it's not an advanced OS. Sailfish OS was developed and designed by the same MeeGo N9 inventors, and not to forget the N9 was the only phone that beat the iPhone on side-by-side comparison and it has the same core, Mer and true multitasking capabilities even with a single core processor and that too super smooth without any lags but Jolla used a dual core this time because N9's problem with HD content. Now, Sailfish is real MeeGo incarnation while Tizen is just another OS like Android with same functionalities and personalization, and it can't provide a user experience as smooth as Sailfish OS.
