Love the phone. live in Australia. tried USA friends to get it. was too hard, all are forced on a contract. We still are to get one properly customised. Wanted unlocked. maybe another year. tried very hard but had to go HTC. Never mind. some of these exclusiveness's are not doing some phones much good ultimately

motorla is acting like a start up. 3 phones a year and availabe for less than 5% of worlds population. 5 - 6 years ago they where a global brand. now they are present in 3 1/2 countries trying to make me believe why they can't supply europe with the moto x. "it's because it's heavy customisable. therefor we can't deliver in europe." pathetic! do us all a favor and just lay down and die! you are a waste of resources.

"Tomorrow, Motorola will take the wraps off the budget-oriented, globally available Moto G."

Dennis Woodsie's strategy is so impressively foolish, that I can hardly believe it's true.

Europe want's top end phones. Not burdget models. It's OK to throw in a budget model in addition to the top ranger.

          Moto is failing massively lately.

Only 500,000 Moto X devices shipped during Q3. This is what Apple would ship in half a day.

Let's see what wonders the budget-oriented, globally available Moto G would do.

            Cheers!!

The main problem with such low shipments (apple moves 100 times more phones a day than moto does a week... 100 times...) does not come from "low availability" of this product, as some may have thought. I believe the problem is with dramatically high price for a mid-end device - it has flagship price, but can't compare in hardware department. And thats the reason why Developer's edition recently got a $100 price cut.

And its still too expensive. Nexus 5 is available in USA for $350 ($400 for 32gb model), while Moto X Developer's edition costs "merely" $550. Now, don't even try to compare hardware, you'll be shocked. Cheaper product has much better hardware and up-to-date OS! If you do not wish to compare to Google device, try comparing to Sony or Samsung or LG devices at a similar price (its easy - they're all flagships) and you'll notice Moto X can't compete with any of them.

Poor shipment figures if u ask me! Motorola refused to make motor X available globally...but they want to make The up coming Moto (a mid range phone)Gavailable globally...isn't that sick? I ain't buying it!

                      So?
Who care about those long number with 5 zero behind?
It's 10X smaller than shorter number of 5M.
It's 40X smaller than shorter number of 20M.

That's very less, I was expecting more, given it was well advertised. Now that Moto Maker is on all carriers and got price reduced, it should do better.

Google should either use Nexus or Moto, not both. It's too confusing for customers. Moto brand is almost dead anyway.

despite of the price motorola has managed to sell 500,000 units...

Good for Moto, I love the phone but I think its over priced. But again I also think that interface (No lag) matters more than how powerful a phone is from inside. Apple is a good example of that.

I like apple but I love android.

The only available in US mentality for motorola phone should change. Only then they can ship more. What is the point of shipping only in US? Motorola products are not that inferior that it is not able to compete globally. So why always have "available in us only" mentality. Why can't Motorola change the approach "make in us, ship globally"
