it's good to know amazon china stocks sharp gsm phones, on my trip it will be easy to get this cool flip, ccd 8mp is certainly much better than se, lg and samsung's current offers

we used to have Sharp's..705, 802, 902, 903 and 904. and I tell you the cam quality is really excellent. I have no doubt

There WILL be 3G versions for Taiwan:
WX-T923 was just released in Taiwan (same as Softbank 923SH)
WX-T930 will be released soon (same as SH1810C or Softbank 930SH)
So if you need 3G, wait for the Taiwanese handsets.

UH.. Have they heard of Unlocked Sharp GSM phones. There was the SH9020C, and some lower end models like the WX-T825
Fujistsu also has a factory unlocked F905i

Sharp is the first company to release CCD sensor camera phones.
Sharp is also the first company to release 5MP CCD camera phones 3 years ago! Now 8MP! WOW! CCD > CMOS any day.
Also, Sharp is the first company to apply LCD display technology to cell phone's screens.
What phones can we get here in America 3 years ago? Ha Ha!
To people who think battery die fast, think again. Japan phones never use cheap battery that only last a day.

Don't get why people are surprised with Sharp coming out with 8 MP .. this is just a keitai port so it should come out with something amazing..

There are quite a few unique looking phones on the market but they tend to go unnoticed. LG KF700 is a touchscreen slider phone with a scroll wheel and nice features. HTC Touch Diamond is another nice phone that has a unique styling. ROKR E8 morphing keypad is a cool feature. Samsung E840+Soul had that interesting icon display below the screen and put out a couple dual sim phones (I would like to see more of these).
I am curious to see what is going to happen this year. Hopefully no more 2 sided phones tho. But I must say I am shocked Sharp put out an 8MP before Motorola. Maybe its that bad at Moto.

Sharp invented the camera phone and released it in Japan in 2000, if you want to talk about copying.
The sharp phones released on Vodafone were some of the best working phones ever made, you still see a few of them around today and they are 4-5 years old.

bored of all the copies, Moto keep making same garbage, LG make another Vietly which was really boring in the first place, yea specs look great but the phones OS is so boring, Samsung has nothing of its OWN only complete Copy: Inov8- copy of N96/N95, Omina, copy Diamond, and all those useless flash based Touch phones are compete bore.
SE have a good idea with Xperia- probably the only Fresh thing in 2008
Nokia were smart, just adding 3 more Mp's does not make the phone super revolutionary, nokia fans still Enjoy the N85 with OLED and at a good price, Inovate is daam expensive and not worth the 3 more mp's
this sharp is cool, Great screen, slim, looks like a great Original thing by sharp, no dum coping like samsung.
Can't wait for CES 2009, i have a feeling only Nokia will have something cool, SE, Samsung and all the other crappy brands will either copy or have a useless flash based os or android garbage
