AnonD-160955, 24 Nov 2013iOS isn't smart choice. Smart buyers will never own iOS as ... more...according to you. But not according to millions of people including doctors, students, academician etc of whom might have better education level than you are thus a smarter person than you think you are. That's my point, you forgot to write "I think/in my opinion"

Anonymous, 24 Nov 2013Besides the USA, is there any place where iphone/ios is gai... moreAustralia, France, Great Britain, Spain, and most likely Japan as well. Last check, it was also growing in the 3 largest Latin American economies Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina (cumulatively). Analysts are also expecting it to grow again in China with its imminent release on China Mobile's network. Of course, these numbers, like the IDC numbers from this article, are from Q3, traditionally Apple's weakest quarter, and don't include the full impact of the newly released 5s.

Anything else I can help you with?

As for the article, good for Windows Phone. Hopefully, with the recent merger, Nokia's culture has more sway in the devices business than Microsoft's. They really need to start selling more high end phones like the 1020, instead of the now dominant, but low end, 521.

This is non sense. Lol, I still prefer iOS rather than that Boring, Ugly Windows O.S. This is only temporary, still iOS is the leading mobile O.S in the U.S and many countries. R.I.P Nokia windows! LOL

iOS isn't smart choice. Smart buyers will never own iOS as their choice. Never forget that!

BlackBerry is good, Windows Phone is better, Android is the best. Absolutely.

IPhones are way overpriced in Latin American countries, so it is to be expected for lower end Windows Phone to sell better... I know Android still dominates in later America due to mostly low to mid range phones

Iamraja, 24 Nov 2013Theres a big fight in 2014 For windows they had to keep ... moreIn tablet space, MS already have advantage with cheap Win8.1 tablet like $350 Asus Book T100. Of course there's still people that prefer high ppi tablet like iPad, or waterproof tablet like Sony Tablet Z.

In phone space, contrary to Win8.1, WP8 is too limited and restricted. It grows but too slow to catch competitor. I don't think WP will do any good in long-term.

I don't say WP8 is bad. It's just, I don't see MS eagerly update WP to catch with competitor. A bad sign.

If, in the future MS have good sales in tablet space, they might drop WP in favor of their full-featured Windows. Less headache for them to maintain different version of Windows.
Not to mention that MS have tendency to discontinue good software that yield little money for them in past.

Sure, Apple can have stellar sales for a quarter or two, but with so many other manufacturers on other platforms (mostly Android, but WP is available on an HTC and Samsung model as well as Nokia), Apple continues to shrink in terms of market share.

Also, your the link you provided isn't working.

Windows Phone have been selling here (Colombia) since people had stopped using BlackBerry who was very popular years ago, Android still remain on top of sales, but some pones are just too expensive here because of taxes.

Theres a big fight in 2014

For windows they had to keep the users they already have by releasing good phones and to solve some problems in the os they had very small competition in their own platform but they had to keep down blackberry and other os like jolla firefox os ...

For android there is a tough competition in low to mid range where chinese and local brands put tough fight among premium brands

For ios they had to release the next flagship quickly if they delay the android will grab some users
