256 mb ram is not enough it should be at least 512 mb ram and at least its display should be 4 inch and 1.2ghz quad core processor

256 mb ram, HTML5 support, multitasking, auto focus camera, faster processor

    though screen size looks enough.

jeff, 26 Nov 2013... nonsense dude. the asha lineup is nokia's entry lineup,... morei think what you said is right. but i wonder why nokia are so stingy about the specs on asha devices?they are giving specs like 3" QVGA display with 133 ppi(pixellation is easily notable),64 MB RAM and the like?[specs: asha 501 or even 503].compare it to entrylevel Samsung galaxy phones and find it 3 years bld. if only they give specs like 3.5" 360 x 600 display, 256 MB ram,cat 10hspa +3g along with a more capable os[multitasking,HTML5 support] they can make a difference.and i will buy one even if it costs Rs.7000 or less in india.otherwise the asha 501 that i have will be my last nokia phone, most probably.i am disappointed about my phone because it wont play 360p videos and browser does not support html5 or flash player.i think i could have bought galaxy star at same price, but battery life, design and build quality couldn't please me in case of that.

Tom, 26 Nov 2013well, well, well, I am one of those people who uses his pho... moreThat's right. I use my Asha 501 only occasionally as my backup phone when I go to do outdoors activities (since it's inexpensive I don't worry about it getting broken). I might sit in the drawer for a month and I've never seen it with less than 30% charge even though sometimes I forget to turn it off.

If Microsoft would make the Asha line bigger and with LTE I'd certainly get one. In my opinion the Asha OS has much more potential than WP...but you still have to deal with what has been terrible support by Microsoft for their mobile OS.

AnonD-209854, 26 Nov 2013Normandy looks good, looks like windows phone with Asha sof... moreI've been saying for at least a year that Nokia (now Microsoft) should take one of the Lumia models (like the 720) and fit it with the Asha OS and see which phone sells more (WP or Asha). Although this is getting closer they need to this with one of their upcoming flagships and see which one the market reacts more favorably.

Is Elop such a Microsoft WP bigot that he'd forgo profits to prove a point? Probably.

Well, it will be interesting to see how long Microsoft keeps the Asha line around. The Asha OS is more efficient than the WP OS and has a UI closer to Android's. More than a few people think WP OS is crap and won't buy a phone with that OS.

besides, asha is not comparable to android. asha is a way more effective system, put android on an asha phone and whatch it crash every two minutes.

another low end phone. I wonder when we see and update to Lumia 8xx series. For me the 8-series is the only wp phone that has good specs in more-or-less normal size body. Waiting for update in 8-series with a hope on larger battery that would last at least 2 days :)
