Anonymous, 02 Dec 2013http://bgr.com/2013/11/27/iphone-5s-availability-higher-tha... moreI assume gsmarena just reprinted the press release of the company, as do most newspapers. The emphasis is on market-based, not number of phones shipped. The iPhone 5s is a larger slice of a much larger picture.

None of this answers the question why Apple didn't price the iPhone 5c at the same price as the Galaxy S3.

What is your problem Apple? 9 millions of iPhone5S sold in 3 days at first week launch? The Apple 'hyped-up' just bring down your sales market.

It freezes constantly. The only times alarms go off are in public when the phone is muted, never when I actually need them. Neither my iPhone or my Windows Phone act this way. I use all three platforms because I am an application developer, and my least favorite is Android.

Android is most buggy OS out there. People keep buying new Android hoping to get new OS and bug fixes but it's same old Android. Java is crap on any platform. WP8 and iOS are much more reliable OS.

                      http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2013/09/20/apple-munster-iphone-numbers/

Apple has even put incentive programs in place to push users to upgrade. Here is one example of many you can google:

                      http://www.bgr.in/news/apple-india-iphone-5s-iphone-5c-sales-strategy/

But being the iphone fanboy that you are, you already knew this, didn't ya? ;)

The WP8 OS is lacking in so many areas, but for most people (like the iphone users), a simple UI, completely closed filesystem and missing features/functionality isn't an issue. So maybe sales will continue to go up without the Nokia name (I have my doubts).

Now that you have Jolla coming on the market with the former Nokia crew and a very savvy strategy of allowing the Sailfish OS be installed on other phones, I can't help but to wonder if people will buy Nokia phones and install Sailfish on them.

Now wouldn't that be a slap in the face to Elop and Microsoft?

The end result is that once the market for smartphones is nearly saturated, the sales for all manufacturers will not see unit sales increase except at the expense of competitors. If you're losing market share, you're losing profits.

People buy Nokia in Europe, not Windows Phone. Nokia had cult status but it was long, long time ago ;) Now is only a part of Microsoft, when from their phones will disappear "nokia" logo it could be problem. They must work faster, system needs to be more open, give more freedom. Maybe we will analyse WP results in USA or China/Asia ?
