The 3.2mp camera on it looks a little lame seeing as most Nokia phones now have 5mp cameras on them at least.

well i m owner of 5700 pas 18mnths n its fkin fantastic fone , so far no prob at all . keypadz so soft n fone neva hang , camara wrks as spy cam takn thousands gals picz lol n had gr8 fun wi side cam...met many ppl askin sale it bt i don wanna do that . 5700xm rocks in all terms , i use 5700 2 take picz anyver n anytime..n afta seen 5710 i m more impresd n surly buy it . Thanks Nokia ))

Goliath, 12 Jan 2009Hi thr, so u have hands-on with the 5710? true dat Nokia ph... moreI dont have my hands on one but i know for a fact that this IF announced will have a DSP and 3.5mm jack mainly because the Freescale chipset used by NOKIAs has a built-in StarCore DSP running at 250mhz on top of the 369mhz applications processor. SEs sound quality is NOWHERE near NOKIA, ever put a N91, N81 or N96 against a W980 or W902? The NOKIAs totaly rip those poor little SEs to shreads in sound, ABSOLUTELY NO distortion in those NOKIAs, the N91 alone is still one of the best even though its now 4years old.

when nokia 5700 xpress music was first released people were cheerd up but later they found out that after less than one year nokia have stopped there production on the phone . now people are lost trying to find out accessories and casings for the 5700 . im done with nokias . people want something that will live up to the hype for a few year not few months .

rare_bug, 12 Jan 2009excuse me...whether my eyes is faulty or these people on th... morehi thwere. Like I said below, N5710 is not new. It existed in 2007, when N5700 hit the market. It was an upgrade to 5700. With better camera, faster processor, higher internal memory and cap in the same colour as the body.
At that time major service providers voted no for 5700, so the 5710 project was cancelled. Weather the "leakage" is really true or not, I don't know. But as xpress music is more-and-more popular it makes sense to reanimate the project. Should it be the same strong mechanics and stable SW and battery life (mine is still running for a week) I experiance with my 5700, I welcome this step. Of course 2 years have passed, so a simple update on specs would not be enough, unless of course Nokia plans it to low-mid range.
But GPS, maybe wLAN, support of 8G cards would be appreciated. Nothing is known of course...
And I would appreciate a standard headphone plug of course.
So let see if it is a step to shade something or was it really a "leakage".

excuse me...whether my eyes is faulty or these people on the web is forget to set their date..but is it not a fake ?? since i got their date on a forum is around 2007, like one on this link :

if the phone is real one, perhaps you could provide different picture then...the picture on the review is exactly the same with the 2007 preview...

Beats all Nokia Mids & High-End models... In fact,its Nokia with the sofware glitches, not SE...

Its a cool phone, 5700 was really good but it has software problems & the ringtone was really soft. Let's hope these problems are rectified & improved in 5710...

It is not a fake. It existed at the time of the announcement of 5700. Which I am using as a second phone for 2,5 years now (yes, before it got to the market).
5700 was a success among most of the people using it. It is robust, the turn mechanics suprisingly good (had no issues with it), sound is superb, camera (specially with the twist function) is very usefull. Even as a web camera when connected to a PC.
Negatives I experianced are the side cover for the charger. The rubber gets tired after a while, thus not so good looking any more. The flash can not be turned on as a torch. I had to change the keyboard 2 weeks ago, due to mechanic failure. S60 works incredably stable on this one.
I failed on the market, because Nokia did not put enough focus on marketing with large service providers. So they didn't buy it. At that time 5710 was put down the sewers. But seems like somebody found the old drawings. I am very happy for that.
Strongly beleive that the specks will not be the same as it was planned originally, as years have passed since. But at least I know what to get for the next second phone.

nice specs, but I hope Nokia improves the quality of flexi-cables & twist construction better than 5700...
no audio chip news on this phone? maybe DAC-33 chip which used in earlier XM models still the best.

u know guys its a fake model . 5700 was a huge flop and the phone which is flopped will never get a new model . its a fake i saw it , it was transformers edition . i bet that this phone will never get announced . OMG what a fake thing this is . this is having no change inh it same body and style . i saw it 6 months earlier and it was same as shown in these pictures .
