AnonD-120504, 08 Dec 2013How come samsung galaxy S4 mini an entry level phone? ?? Di... morehahaha in your face, I will get kitkat to my s3 and your s4 mini may not!
Just kidding, I am curious too, s4 mini is a 6 months old phone and when it came out costed 400 euros and Samsung is not sure if they will provide kitkat update for that phone?? It should be given that s4 mini will get kitkat.
For my future phone I would like a Ssomething Mini, because the S series became too big phones for me, but I am afraid that S minis are not treated good with the updates. Maybe I will buy a mini from a manufacturer which respect more their mini series.

M GE, 08 Dec 2013Tell that to galaxy nexus owners. Shure, you can instal... moreHigh-end devices will get the most developer support and lots of mid and low-end devices will be left out. The average person probably doesn't know what rooting is or how to install a custom rom and they will probably avoid doing it. The OMAP SoC in the galaxy nexus is the reason why it won't get updated (no more driver support from Texas instruments) and Google can't do anything about it.

AndroID , 08 Dec 2013What about Samsung galaxy s2 ?P.S: Note that devices that have been in the market for more than 18 months, and devices like the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 which have already received two major updates, won’t be getting Android 4.4, thanks to the 18-month support policy manufacturers follow.
