13 Jan, 2009
The Nokia Locate Sensor is a nifty little gadget that lets you keep track of your wallet, car keys, children (or even spouse?) within a range of 100 m by using a special application installed on your mobile phone...

People that are hating on Nokia cause it's only 100 metres, well, as i see it, people that are more than 100 metres from their your house key is not lost, they are confused, they don't need this devise, they need a councelor and some professional help to get their act together.

Yup. An alarm is needed if item is about to get outside of coverage area. This can help to prevent items from being inadvertently forgotten at a store, office, etc.

seems like a N95 with a platic cover on the screen like the 8GB version instead of the LCD regular lining

Fox, 13 Jan 2009Uhm, and after 100 meters? Then what? You still miss your s... moreThere is probably an option for an alarm to go off once the distance to a traced item is larger than 100m. So you just have to go a few steps back to start tracking it.

this is a nice piece of kit, if the range was better it'd be great. If the chip was tracked by GPS it'd be awesome!!

haha sorry for the first post thingy...
Btw, i do think the idea is nice and practical.
However, if the price is too expensive then might not be too feasible.
