Moto X is one of the best smartphones out there and it gave end to the specs war in android phones "higher clocking is better" which is totally not true. This is one of the smoothest experiences on Android lets not say the smoothest. i hope Motorola + Google keep up this kind of work But i agree 100 $ is too much when they only said 50 $ in the beginning.

Android Man, 18 Dec 2013let me get this right. $100 for a cover. stupid price. the ... moreits not a cover, its the phone's housing. Its personalized to your likes. It costs money to manufacture wood, especially for a phone housing, and it gives a personal touch. I agree $100 is expensive, but you cant deny how great it looks.
my only concern with wood would be humidity. What happens if you happen to put your phone in the table, where there's water or liquid on it? hopefully its coated, to prevent wood to deter quickly.

Should be cheaper...and it makes sense to manufacture items from sustainable sources instead of non renewables like plastic. More effort in this direction needed.
