And it is going to fail as hell, as with the Acer Aspire One there is no need to carry a phone larger than you Windows XP powerd mini notebook. Though I am a symbian fan, nokia is just lame. Where the the hell is that dual sim symbian phone? Obviously, the folks from samsung must manufacture it first to show nokias primitive engineers how it goes. Same thing with the touchscreen UI. Nokia has a long way to learn from Apple.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2009Yes Dual SIM is a must But a stylus as I said earlier is... moreWhen the china's phone first come out with dual sim, i thought it won't hit major brand. But when china's product were not bad as a low-mid budget/market, i see that's it's hurting the major brand a lot.

I see that LG & Samsung were somekind forced to enter this market as well, as their portfolio in the low end were crushed in my country.

In a year or two, i think nokia need to evolve too. if not their portfolio in the mid-price will got crushed by samsung.

              Anyway.
I got this data from some local handphone magazine in my country
An 18% china brand were sold for the year 2008 here.
there were only 2% for the year 2007.
it's not a good sign for the big brand.
more and more people find that china brand offer acceptable price/quality ratio at the low-end.

Yes Dual SIM is a must

But a stylus as I said earlier is a must too....

Most chines mobiles are coming out with Dual sim and stylus...

Nokia is too entrenched with the operators to take them on... hence the death of the company who is happy with the status co.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2009when i saw a phone support dual sim, i notice that the phon... moreI've seen several 'china made' dual and triple card, and all on (simultaneously on). Some were indeed clone. There were a clone of Nokia N95 for dual simcard (GSM/CDMA dual on). It's looks like N95, but it's not N95 (it's not symbian). I also see some dual sim-card clone that looks like motorola. if i'm not wrong, it's cloning the V66.

But several of them, that were aimed at higher market, have their own design. I stumble across a triple card triple on that have the newest windows mobile in a local handphone shop in my city just a couple of days ago.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 20091) Too thick 2) No stylus )( I like jotting down notes) - ... moreYou were right,

You were bringing the issue that were I consider that Nokia were taking too long to tackle. The DUAL SIM PROBLEM. I really hate to say that i'm 'forced' to bring more than 1 cellular.

It's a common practice in my country to have more than 1 number. In fact most people I know have 2 or 3 sim card. Some even have more. There were a 18% people in my country as of now that using a 'made in china' phone because it can provide 2 or 3 sim card. That's why the LG & samsung also make the dual sim card too.

It's a pity that nokia haven't make such a product. I believe the limitation were in the Symbian operating system, as I never seen the symbian use for dual or triple card.

Nokia, if you have someone reading this thread, please understand that you were loosing ground in the mid-low end by not releasing dual/triple sim-card.

For those of you wondering why we need a lot of sim card. There were 10 celular provider in my country, and each of them offering a low-cost / almost free on-net call. (US$ 0.1 for 1 hour for on-net, but US$ 0.1 for 1 minute for off-net). Most of the bellow 40 years old have more than 1 number (Doesn't neceserely more than 1 handset).

Nokia are at the top of their game ATM. This N97 looks awesome. Sure the iPhone is "fun" to use but the top NSeries phones are truly great "mini computers". The N95 8GB is probably the best multimedia phone/computer/camera on the market at the moment, IMHO. It's functionality is without equal.
