Using a modified t-mobile dash from wm6 to wm6.1 (tried different cooked roms) aint seen any thing impressing yet hope 2009 brings good news

Using WM for 1yr upgrading from rom to cooked rom basically the interface always looks the same and a few different programms and features but the colour display always seem poor from the least to the most expensive WM based handset. if they can come close to MAC or in some cases symbian i would be surpise but personally i think this wm6.5 follows the same trend no big improve but who knows lets wait and see hu

it seems that Microsoft is starting to feel the pressure from other os manufacturers. Good thing i would say, wm needs a makeover quickly and 2 year announcements about future os releases just won't do it anymore. Hope it works out for Windows Mobile:) Regards!

seems that most of the datas nowadays are getting sync online wirelessly but don't you ever think that this can pose our personal infos at risk of theft?

Before everyone speculates, need to understand what Windows Mobile 6.5 is. As it is right now, with the information cirulating around, its more of a Windows Mobile 6 upgrade (like 6.1 and hecnce why its 6.X) rather than a totally revamped solution, which again, based on current information, is what WM7 is. If that is the case, then any existing WM6.1 phone should be able to upgrade. If however, it ends up being a totally revamped version, then depending on the specifications might need new hardware which rules out older phones from upgrade.
Seriously, just do a Google search before speculating madly about things.
Finally, if the infomation circulating is true, then there might be some dissapointments since everyone seems to think 6.5 is the next WM when in fact its a WM6 upgrade. Nevertheless, as a WinMo user,I do hope its a HUGE improvement over WM6.1...

NS, 20 Jan 2009Official upgrade might not be available; after all, that’s ... moreand HTC always give their costumers an upgrade os whenever in needs. like HD(just release Nov 2008) is running 6.1 and already read from some forum that HTC will release new rom upgrade(6.5) and 7 if there is a need.

Official upgrade might not be available; after all, that’s the case with IE6 for Mobile.
I think the no update for WM 6.1 is that, official update, not about cooked ROM (which depends on the free developers’ willingness).

Well, my hope is that they get over the multi-touch hype and starts balancing things out between their smartphone and PDA-phone platform again.

Hmmm...Microsoft's mobile solutions have always been kinda their 10th priority. Alone the fact that the ui without tweaking looks like shit and outdated, not to mention you still need stylus in 2009 is quite amazing...I hope they make massive improvements with the 7 version, because otherwise the new and improved os's are gonna wipe them out. All the praise to manufacturers like HTC and Samsung for having their own visual solutions for tweaking at least outdated home screens. On the other hand we have software companies like spb, resco and others which have succesfully made a lot of money doing what microsoft should do in the 1st place. So it's a balance of some kins after all...Hope for the best for winmo:)
