21 Jan, 2009
Apple iPhone finally receives some copy/paste goodness that works throughout all default applications on the device such as SMS, Mail or Notes. To enable it you need Clippy, a free app distributed via Cydia...

arvin, 21 Jan 2009no! windows mobile is more complex and complicated for comp... morerules to who, windows mobile isnt popular in europe what so ever anymore iphone doesnt have the custimisation of wm but has a far better layout / user interface and the vast majority of customers dont want a headache everytime they try to figure out how to use there phone.

i own a iphone and have had most windows mobile devices that have graced the market and iphone is a different league.

yes they have left some strange stuff iphone but app store ipod and web browser simple embaresses any windows device and any blackberry currently out.

im speaking from a retail mobile view and also worked for the networks directly and iphone is the biggest sucess o2 have had since the millenium.

I admit i get frustrated when people put down the iphone as its just leagues ahead as a phone and web device and that cant be argued.

I have ran a google phone iphone 2g 3g htc touch diamond blackberry bold n96 c905 and top spec phone you care to mention blackberry storm aswell and IPHONE IS KING

Copy/Paste functionality should have been there from the very first release on iPhone. I don't know what the hell Apple's team was thinking when they left that one out.

              is this even worth it?
-u hv to jailbreak it (and void waranty)
              -u hv v limited functionality
-u lose the draging of the cursor

i like some of the things iphone does but hopefully this (as well as other features iphone lacks) proves that steve jobs was lying wen he said iphone was 5yrs ahead of the competition. and all those ifans believed him.

Copy and paste is a basic function of any text editor. It should have been incorporated into the firmware from the outset - its strange that they didnt include it.

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2009How can it rule, it's got a 65k screen like the phone I had... moreadmit it or not, to the honesty, if we wil list down the capabilities of iphone over WM, WM is far superior to iphone.

and you keep on saying millions of color.... maybe you can also see infrared beam easily? think... think.... you cannot make defference between those 2 mode of color screen support.

WM is hopeless at multimedia, it was never made to be for multimedia even though 3rd parties try hard.

I bet you had to install something like core player.

Yet you whine about installing things on an iPhone.

Why don't S60 phone's support DIVX (except for Samsung phone's) you have to install something.

what i am talking about is their new copy and paste. its just a 3rd party application.

WM still rules in area of multimedia, multi tasking, and simulation of a computer based device.

                      HD RULES!

the biggest complaint i recieve as i work in the mobile trade is how slow and hard to use windows mobile is and that phones such as htc touch arent a patch on iphone.
