Alcatel unveils Android phone, phablet and two tablets

The two tablets and the phablet are entry level devices. The phone is the 5" Idol X+ with octa-core chipset.

MT6592 actually has Mali 450 quad... 700-800mhz depends on config....

    techguru, 06 Jan 2014Alcatel phablet is gonna be a disaster. mark my words (unle... moreyou on drugs? the X+ runs on Octa cores, as bad as you think mediatek is this new soc is actually decent and performs almost twice than their previous quadcore and quadcore turbo, and Mali 450 is a very good gpu,and its very energy efficient I have a phone with same specs but different brand it actually runs on KK 4.4.2 now (custom rom) these octa MTK models have lots of custom developer support on different forums... 200-250 would be reasonable for this one

                I wonder why some smartphones designs and similar to other phones from previous and some specs seems not to high and still late for innovations.

Still you're ... morebut their are phones out there with twice as better features (moto G, Read up onit) which are merely priced at 100quid. unless your samsung iphone or sony your not selling a phone made with such low specs at high prices.
