Protocol, 07 Jan 20142k is useless on such a small display and there's no real w... moreI tottaly agree. 2K is useless.

It's very true that having a Full HD display is of NO BENEFIT in the end; when you see the screen there's no difference between HD and Full HD, specially having a more than 320DPI screen (even at 260DPI).

Any gamer knows that a higher resolution screen needs a much better GPU to support it. Adreno 320 (on my Xperia ZL)supports fine any game at FUll HD, except Need For Speed MW. With this game the FPS is very near to "optimal" (playing after a reboot), but it's not totally optimal as time passes cause the device heats up.

There you have the worst part of having a very high resolution display. The GPU suffers uselessly.

And when the device heats up the NFS's frame rate decreases, and this become worse if you have several services and apps runing in the background... Good bye to speed feeling.

But, use a Resolution Changer app... set it to the Moto X's resolution and DPI... (720x1280, 312DPI)... NFS's frame rate "magically" turns from "good" to more than optimal!

Changing the resolution does not affect in any way the system. It's safe as long as the app uses a safe method (Not through build.prop).
I use this "NOMone Resolution Changer" by NOMONE. It's free and the best for this job.

When my ZL is quite loaded with apps and hot... I use this app and NFS runs so very smoothly and at highest FPS, like it should, thanks to a lower load (HD) rather than the useless Full HD resolution.

Sorry for the offtopic. Of course S800 and S805 have no issues with Full HD (other than battery drain), but with 2K the story will repeat somehow... and still with NO benefits.

You're welcome for the tips. :P

                    - L.

                    PD: I hope Sirius use S805 n.n
