Nothing special in this phone except bigger display compared to Z1. Price probably will be around 500 euros.
There is no need for bigger phone than 5 inches, if you want bigger, simply buy a tablet.

As mentioned the total device size will stay the same as Z1.
Screen will be IPS 1080p 5.2".
3GB Ram, more than 3000mAh battery (max. 3500mAh I'm not sure).
The three holes at the button frame are just for the microphone.
Camera will be better in lowlight than Z1.

LED notification light = useless..! Sony tried to be inovative but failed. If Sony made 2 version of the phone one which with LED light (eventhough it can be switched off) and other with no LED light I will buy the one without LED notification light.

I sure hope this LED light makes it to the release model with the ability of mimicking Kit from "Knight Rider".

I own a Z1. 2days after i took ownership of it, it got too hot and then it froze. I had to leave it on the floor to cool down. a week later, it had 57% battery but it switched off. I had to wait 4hours for it to switch back on and charge.

2 weeks after that the same thing happened. Now today, i put it on the charger and It doesnt want to charge at all. So i am really not happy with it. So disappointed it Sony. Thought me moving from my Z10 to Z1 would make me happy but im more miserable. Come on Sony

what is with all the whining about the slimmer bezel. I don't know about the rest of you but a slimmer bezel has two if not more disadvantages. 1. when you drop your phone on its sides namely bottom or top a slimmer bezel causes that cool shattering glass that you guys must love. 2. when i'm watching a video on my phone I kinda don't want to touch the display that ruins the movie experience. Stop being Sony haters or Samsung fanboys and give the devices a try before knocking them.

See the craftsmanship guys... i own a Z1 already and when i compare this to this upcoming device... i really feel that this one's much slim. Sony's always awesome at their device builds. however it'd be nice if they give software updates frequently

OH MY GOD that BACKLIGHT BLEED. It hurts my eyes.

Also, where are the slimmer bezels? They are still gigantic.

It makes me wonder if Sony, once known for quality lost their eyesight? There are so many good display panels out there, even no-name companies are using them these days, while Sony seems to be stuck with a disaster of a screen. I think there's no company that packs worse screens to their phones.

Also, LG could put slim bezels LAST YEAR into their flagship. Another year for Sony, and they're still doing same things that they're criticized about the most.

king, 19 Jan 2014as a xperia fans, the non-removable battery hurt me a lot. ... moreA friend of mine, believe it or not, still owns a Sony Ericsson W800i. Calls, text messages, and music just about suffice it for him. He says there's no point wasting money on one of those "Galaxies" or "Nexuses" when calling, messaging, and music is all that he needs from a phone. The W800i fulfils all his purposes, and he's basically happy with the phone. How many years has it been since the SE W800i first came out? Quite a number, and the phone's still going great, no problems whatsoever.

It's not a given that a battery, user-replaceable or not, WILL die down in two years. There may be the odd instance where one might go within a year or two, but most instances, batteries do tend to last a while.
