BB is dying. They have been in life support about a year ago. DoD's treatment wont help because BB's cancer is malignant with no cure.
Buy iphone coz an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Or Samsung coz plastic will last longer than metal, it'll take a century to perish.

It's understandable, Blackberry is still the most secure mobile OS in market. If I were in US DoD, I'd do the same.

Nice to hear. I really don't like to see a any company is going to diminish. .. they all are good on particular department. So yes long live BB, Samsung, Apple, LG, Nokia, HTC. Cause whatever fans think about rival company they all provided jobs for people's and that's matters in real life.

I will never buy crapberry, will rather use nokia 3310 than that junk. DoD bought Crapberries because RIM sold them to them for 1$ each because they need at least 1 sale for the last 3 months. RIM should rather go make vacuum cleaners or sell ice creams

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2014Whats this wp fanboy doing here? He dont even know what BB1... moreMEe a fanboy, hahahah, that's a good one. No company in the position of BB would have the resources to support a proprietary OS because it takes a hell of money and resources and even a company as big as M$ is struggling to build an ecosystem. What you say is exactly the point I make. MS needed popular brands for a new popular OS. Instead of letting MS do the system and worry about the phone only, BB went head on for OS10, when anyone knew it was a technical suicide.
Both Nokia and Lumia brands are well and alive; lumia owned by M$ and doing great phones and Nokia free to play with Android thanks to the Microsoft cash, so who made the right move? :P

BB failed all over the world including US & Canada for ridiculously high prices for OS 10 handsets. At this high price, BB might have sold their products for legacy handsets on OS 6,7 back in 2008-09 but for new OS 10, they have failed. First gain the market share, reduce the price by half or even more & then think of profit/price. Once you were at first position, but now you are considered in 'others'. You are no more price maker but price taker.

Well, BB you can shift your market to Large corporations and governments and skip large averts. It might save the company.

Im open for buying a BB but Z10 has somewhat bad battery and Z30 has a ridiculous low ppi, very pixellated display. Q10 was a very sad story, how on earth did they manage to forget to add space for upwards gesture on a phone with an OS where upwards gestures are the most important ones? I was so puzzled when i tested Q10, maybe hardware designflaw of the millennium.

BB should not be playing catch-up on the hardware side but go all the way with what people want these days, the Z10 successor should have a quadcore proc and Full HD display at around 4.5 inch, slim bezels (as slim as a gesture based OS will allow) and 32GB storage. Sure, its not what people need but it is what they want.

Whats this wp fanboy doing here? He dont even know what BB10 is but like to have so strong opinions and so sure that he could have saved BB? Why didnt you save Nokia instead if you are so genius, they got sold off, remember?

r, 22 Jan 2014where is that person who used to say "knox is nominate... moreThey are going down because they kept developing their stupid system of their own even if they had no resources or momentum to keep it going, it's like Nokia kept betting on Symbian. They'd be safe and sound now sharing a bigger WP market with Nokia.
