Android, while easy to throw around marketshare figures like 80%, is actually a very fragmented wasteland. It is not comparable from phone to phone, unlike WP8 or iOS, which is similar across the board.

Add to that fact a huge bulk of Android phones are simply cheap handsets that have replaced previous generation dumbphones, and the landscape is even more ugly.

Google has to do more if it wants to remain marketshare leader, as Nokia is attacking daily with its own better low end handsets, clawing back marketshare from its previous customers.

Microsoft is very slow in making significant progress on Windows Phone. Doesn't look good, honestly.
With no sign of motivation in WP development, I started to worry they might drop WP eventually. Maybe it's sooner than expected.

Learning from past years, you can see that MS has tendency to scrap good technology (with large userbase) that didn't benefit them.
Silverlight dropped. XNA scrapped. WP7 left behind with no upgrade path. .Net framework looks grim, could be dropped to Xamarin. CL compiler removed in VSEx2013. WinRT looks dead in water.

    And now there's WP8. If I were you, I'll avoid WP8.
I don't want to repeat the same mistake, again.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2014I thin we will have to say soon Android Like systems for Wi... moreActually. The Swiss railroad company sued apple. And apple paid 28 mil to use the clock.

Ms sued companies using android and did not pay for patents.
Samsung pays for every android device to Ms so does many others.
They just refuse to pay apple for their patents.

Now MS began to understand what is required by the user, not like before where always arrogantly commanding what they want. IOS will soon left behind if not follow.

WP ? Can i have own wallpaper, folders, such a big problem ?! Maybe mkv support, without any problem (especially WP7/7.5) ? Maybe dynamic/static IP ? http://forums.wpcentral.com/nokia-lumia-920/207803-setting-dynamic-static-ip-address-wifi.html
Sorry but Windows Phone is the backward light-years compared to Symbian Belle/Android. It's faster ? Clean Android is fast, Belle was too, MeeGO was even faster, Windows Phone is nonfunctional!
Look here http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/forums/101801-feature-suggestions and wait 10 years...

I thin we will have to say soon Android Like systems for Windows Phone and iOS :)

They saying, especially apple does that:

"We found that, we found this, we found it..., however when we steal itsn't borrowing, just because we are great artists (Great artist = Clever thief in Apple's personal vocabulary)

Now Win-phones being like android, it is a good thing actually.
Except if microsoft will not sue samsung or other companies like apple did.

            Remember?
They just burgled a watch design from Swiss Federal Railways, yeah you've right.
No body sued apple, because it was an artwork :)

            Please...
Do not start about Notification center and quick access toggles and much more another android abilities, it was already on newspaper, public,

            Right?
            They didn't stole anything...

for now as lg g2 and nokia 520 owner I see a long way for microsoft to bring the game to sort of android level. Missing too many things on nokia 520.

I see a lot of people bashing the leaked shots. I find it kinda funny considering that this pic is for the Notification SETTINGS, it's NOT the actual notification center.

Tiles based UI is the creation of Microsoft and I think they can easily copy the notification centre in Android 4.4 KitKat as most toggles are tiles based.

Window's os were late to the mobile game, they were not too sure of their capacity to competite and their audible step toward mkin the platform cheap with for developer to create n lunch their app on like andriod n ios and lastly, they fail to innovate n expand their penetration the market with swifty ideals.

Eww! The notifications look as if they are from a toy phone. I had a very small hope that notification center might turn the tides a bit in favor of WP, but nah, not with this.
