Google IT, 05 Feb 2014This is bull5hit. Due the bad policy of updates of all manu... moreIt's not "bad policy", it's called "planned obsolescence". It's a strategy to make people buy new phones. Why should they invest in making updates for old phones? It doesn't make any economical sense.

This is bull5hit. Due the bad policy of updates of all manufactures (and Google too), there is still (and will always exist) hundreds, millions of phones locked into Gingerbread and Froyo limbo forever. 18-month life cycle of Android devices is too short.

Android versions dont matter for most of users as i have noticed. Whats the real embarassment for android is OpenGL ES 2.0 majority, its the only thing helding android gaming behind ios. I blame Google for this as the support for 3.0 was too late implemented. I hope google makes open GL ES 3 capable gpu mandatory in the next major version that will put crappy mediatek phones an end.

Gingerbread was better at real multitaskin, I could stream many different Adobe Flash movies in many different browser at the same time, and play games and edit documents..., without any of the streams or movies needed to stop/pause, and I could even turn off the screen and still listen to the sound from all streaming movies and all streaming music all att the same time! The user interface looks better in later versions, and it is easier for developers, but i really miss Gingerbread, for me it was the best Andriod version ever, before the restrictions that made it lag less and remove Adobe Flash!
