Bill, 08 Feb 2009Like I said eariler, if you expect a full HD capable displa... moreyou dont understand what i mean...
i just want to buy a phone with great features like HD video can be enjoyed on the phone screen it self and if it must be plugged to LCD Tv so it is not special for me coz i did it with my Handycam video.

i just want to enjoy a video in every time and every place where i go at HD quality.at least this i8910 has wvga screen so this phone will be great for me but if the screen only has WQVGA, the features cant be enjoyed at every time but i must plug it to LCD TV so it is not diff with my Handycam. in other word, if it only has WQVGA so the phone is not good but indeed, the features are great.

          thanks

Yeah, a month ago samsung officially launch "samsung s60 innovator" program to developt their own s0 platform app directly and attract 3rd party developer to build samsung s60 app.. without passing thru nokia/s60 developer system..and a week ago samsung officially launch "samsung app store" to provide s0 n other samsung smartfone user benefit n app...
after nokia buy and make symbian opensourced,,other vendor like samsung allowed to developt their s0 platform without nokia intervention..other s60 licensor (lg) maybe follow samsung steps to improve their s60
I agree nokia is well experienced n s60 founder, but the latest samsung weapons like g810,innov8,acme and next m7600 are main weapon to break nokia domination..n82/95 was best s60 fone with their innovative 5mp hi quality cam,30 fps vga rec n 3d acclerator but latest n79/85/96 and n97/5800 failed to achieve "innovative" word..their cpu are same with thweir cheapest s60 fone 6120..and can't deliver better multimedia experience except sound quality..but i believe nokia will answer samsung challenge..
Two thumbs up to samsung..beside s60, samsung also years experienced in winmo platform n samsung also joins android alliance together with se,lg,moto, huawei etc..so samsung has strategic position as mobile maker,os licensor, and mobile hardware maker..
this i8910 acme wont be perfect phone and some says it's too young and immature for HD technology in mobile..but like nokia did in 2006 with their 1st powerful multimedia fone (n93) which will be the base of their next masterpiece n95/82..that time much negative comments about instability n power hungry of their fone but..nokia prove that n95/82 become most popular n powerful nseries fone..Samsung will do the same with their i8510 and i8910

Hd video camcorders typically use a 3000mah battery and can record for about 2hrs. Any larger and it wouldn't be compact. So, I wouldn't be suprised if this phone used a 1500mah battery and so would only be able to record for 1hr max. in hd

[deleted post]It's wise if u push nokia to make i8910 killer..samsung is one of the youngest vendor in mobile competition..samsung enters gsm in 2001,while nokia, siemens,se (former ericsson),n moto was dominating this tech from 1980s..but now samsung become larger n take 2nd rank..samsung g810,innov8,omnia,n now acme are samsung weapons to break tech domination of nokia n se..there's no perfect from these fone..but at least samsung (maybe for a while heheh) leading s60 tech..n make nokia realize to know that nokia must improve their latest n series to fight in the future..if n82/95/73 discontinue..i believe s60 freak will take other smartfone

[deleted post]At least samsung try to give us high tech multimedia experience..while nokia n other stuck at old tech like vga 30fps,standard tv-out,an standart amoled screen without tempered glass...next successor of i8910 would give better performance! U can see latest n97 or 5800 which has inferior performance compared to i8510 n n82/95

I've read elsewhere that this phone records in 720pi and plays back through the HDMI in 720, most likely to a computer HD display or LCD tv, not on the phone itself

Daam man, 08 Feb 2009yea Samsung haven't reached Nokia's level in S60, personall... moreSamsung is making a real effort now to get their firmware and user experience more refined. They just open forums where users can address S60 issues with Samsung directly. Also, they just opened an official Samsung App Store.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2009i talked about the phone screen... i want to watch a HD ... moreLike I said eariler, if you expect a full HD capable display to be squeezed into an area of 3.8", it's not going to happen. No manufacturer has screens that small with pixel densities that high yet. The smallest full HD capable display one can get on the market currently is 15".

Sanyo, supposedly, developed a full HD capable display that is a bit over 7". However, I know of no product on the market currently that uses it.

You mentioned your HD camcorder. The display on your camcorder doesn't have full HD resolution - none of them do currently.

maybe in output result of HD video is great, we can use LCD tv but the phone it self is not good even a phone with WVGA and 3MP on WVGA screen can be better than this phone on phone screen.

i rarely use tv to watch a Phone video so if i8910 screen doesnt suppord the features it self so for me, the features are useless coz cant be enjoyed on the phone screen it self.

i want to watch a HD video on the phone screen at the video quality it self and if the screen can support it so this phone is great but if i must plug it to LCD TV it is not great even my handycam also can do this. how great the i9810 is if i can watch HD video without TV but everyplace where i go...

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2009Samsung is no Nokia. They screw up there phones a lot. I me... moreyea Samsung haven't reached Nokia's level in S60, personally comparing N79 and N85 with the i8510 and i7110 i felt Nokia had better finishing and tuning, that comes from experience, Samsung's I8510 outpowers both N79 and N85 combined theres no doubt about that but with Nokia Maps, Share OVI, Ngage... Nokia comes with more goods and the G810 really failed with the Mass but it looks like theres no way in Hell Samsung are giving up and their improving

And with the i8910... its a Hell of Start!

Samsung is no Nokia. They screw up there phones a lot. I mean take the sister device i8510 which still can't record VGA 30FPS properly. The sound and video is out of sync and is just not as smooth as videos taken with the N95 for example.

This phone might eliminate my need to carry around extra gear such as camcorder, camera, smartphone, maybe a laptop, as well as the chargers. I won't have to worry about losing each piece of gear as well or checking them in at the airport security and customs.
