For example in Philippines iPhones are usually free on contract, not only the 4S but even the 5S, while most android phones are paid cash in regular stores. Even in USA you never pay more than $200 for an iPhone, they are really cheap. I never paid that low price for a phone in my life.

AnonD-8044, 10 Feb 2014It was a good smartfone just got left in the past and was s... moreIt wasnt a good smartphone, all of them developed keyboard problems all by themself (not caused by dust or anything) and at the time Sense was the most slow and unstable POS the world had seen, plus the phone suffered from SOD. Abut updates, it wasnt good on Froyo and it got worse after the Gingerbread update. Files newly copied to the sd would disappear, files you deleted would reappear, the speaker was exceptionally bad and impossible to use if you didnt live in a soundproof bunker.
And this was normal for HTC phone at the time, actually Desire Z owners were among the lucky ones, for example HD2 owners had much worse problems.

HTC making contract with Apple, is like to make contract with the devil.
Sealed, huge-bezel, Apple-ish POS can be sold only to the ifans. But they buy nothing without Apple logo.
That's why HTC will, die if they don't wake up.

My first HTC was the Orange SPV windows smartphone in around 2003..

jack, 10 Feb 2014You do realise that galaxy is android, don't you?I think the point that my friend was trying to make was people identify more with the Galaxy and Lumia branding than the OS itself.
The main reason why Samsung sells is not because of advertisement . It sells because of solid after sales service and quick android upgrades (2nd after the Nexus line). Not to mention a removable battery and microSD card slot are a huge plus.
Apple and Nexus series can be forgiven for lacking the 2 features ( battery and card slot) because they make up for those shortcomings in other ways . But not HTC . Their after sales service is pathetic whereas Samsung's service centers are as common as ATM's in certain Indian cities.
Instead of spending big bucks on celebs like Robert Downey Jr , they can actually open a good dozen service centers is several locations around the world and innovate more than the do now , which is almost none.

Hey guys, please understand a thing ; htc mainly focused on product quality as apple and not on higher specs, so it is very expensive but remember htc phones gives best android user experience compared to any other brands . please do not critise htc in terms of low specs and high price,also pray for its success in the coming years.
