Why the power button is on top again? I was expecting to be on the right side along with volume buttons like all the phones have right now. Very disappointing. Does the screen wakes up while tapping on the screen atleast?

a lot of people onslaught to htc with no reason!!!!! for example many people said about htc logo and sign in front of phones... but most of brands have logo or their name in front and in forehead of phones and gadget.except apple,motorola.when sony ,nokia,lg Samsung and others use an do that,it has no problems but when htc uses.....!!!!!!!!!!!! as our friend said htc did all or most of improvement that users said but what does sony about TFT????!!!!! Samsung about body and design?????!!!!!!! and ...... if htc has no quality or has bad design you f...g men don't buy it. go for other brands but you have no permission to spoil and destroy a huge and high quality brand.

All you big fans of the Famous HTC 1 Icon can stop complaining about what the new HTC M8 is lacking, you asked for a better looking phone, they did it, we asked for a bigger screen, they gave it to us, a better camera, they doubled it, more colors, did that as well, and if you ask me that dark grey silver is mean. You can't please everyone, true HTC Consumers will stick by them, Samsung Consumers stick by them, and Apple Consumers stay true to them. Bottom line if you don't like the new HTC M 8 don't buy it, but keep all those negative remarks to yourself.

On HTC Tytn II (good old times :D) HTC logo was printed in upper right corner.
It's clear that the M8 is a finishd product now. No matter what Samsung or other company will show at MWC, HTC simply don't have the capabilites/financial power to adapt. Everything, from internals to exterior takes time to adjust or reorder. Time and capabilitis that HTC don't have.
If they'll keep that ugly black bezel with HTC on bottom screen is because they need a certain size to fit the internals and other screens simply don't fit. Easy as this. They will probably remedy the issue on the upgraded\next version, but now it's impossible and they have to stick with this flawed design that has this wasted space and on screen buttons
Of course, if this picture is the real deal...

If you ask me...if that HTC logo has to be on the front of the device, I would get rid of that huge empty bazel, make bottom speaker grill to be even with the top one and put the logo on the right side of the speaker grill (bottom right corner).
