Hey guys, just some questions about the gear 2, it says u can play music without smartphone attached, my question is how about the camera? Can you use camera without smartphone attached?

Coupel of points on top of my mind

-More sleeker smartwatch, make this a more a 'wrist watch' like thinner and slimmer
-Better battery, atleast a week. Will be better if battery works like normal watch, probably utlize solar and power itself
-Curved Display, i guess wrist watch benefits more with curved
-More happy to have a flexible display too
-Better Straps, fit and finish for the watch, lets feel it as an accesory and fashion item rather than a tech toy.
-Do we really need a dual core 1ghz to power up a little device like a watch? Not sure why? guess this space be used for better purposes

So hows the region lock on this one, will it refuse to show the time when it is in a timezone that does not correspond to the region it was sold in?

LoL at the home button, Samsung is really obsessed with that, they did it only because they are worried that iWatch will have a home button.

I kind of like the Neo - it's simple and non-pretentious. I hate the battery life of these watches (a major, MAJOR drawback) but other than that it's quite fine this time around.

Plus, Apple wouldn't make a device that works with any other manufacturers mobile products so why should Samsung? Do you think the iWatch, if it appears, will work with anything other than the iPhone? Personally, I hope they keep it limited to Galaxy devices because poor sales = more exclusivity for us that do buy one!

Been using a Pebble for a while and grown to love having a smart watch but it lacks some features and looks cheap. This second version of the Gear solves all the Pebble's shortcomings, the original Gear's shortcomings, throws in a really useful heart rate monitor and looks a lot better. I'll definitely be getting one. Good work, Samsung!

Well the first gear was perfect in every way. except the fact you had to run on Note 3, then they updated the firmware for a few others. if Samsung want to shift millions of units. then they should have open the firmware to run on any android device.

But knowing Samsung they wont so it will flop in sales like the last one, shame.

AnonD-52738, 23 Feb 2014First Gear is dual core but only single core is activate. Was the second core good for the weight balance? ;-)
Try to read again what you write ... if it had 2 but only one active it had only one to do the job. so it was single core.

Love this device. Finally a smartwatch from Samsung that is water resistant (extremely important thing to me), has a fast proccesor for the S-Voice and is lighter and thinner. I will be seriously thinking about purchasing this (probably the version without the camera).

Tizen OS on a smartwatch? LOL. This is a just a feature watch and nothing more. Crap. This is of no use rather than monitoring your heart beat, seeing the time and charging it time to time. It should have Android OS or else, of no use. If it's priced for $20, maybe I'd buy one.

i replied to someone who said that a 1ghz dual core processor and 512 MB of ram passed as a flagship in 2011
i said that this is a smart watch
where we don't need quad core processors

Think i can go for Neo one if battery and pricing is right, can try new tech once a while. 55gms of weight seems right too. Good that camera is optional , imagine holding hand in ackward position to get perfect click.. and that too on 2MP camera.

Anonymous, 23 Feb 2014The same reason it needs a smaller battery (it doesn't).A dual core processor is more efficient then a single core one as both cores run at less voltages to do the same task. Yeah but the battery should have been bigger.

I'm a Sony fan, from tv, home entertainment, phones, to gaming console. But smartwatch is something that I won't buy. I will only have one if it's free when I get a new phone. The reason for that is the lack of compelling utility.
