In 2013 no decent company had a flash on a phone that price and if you have used a 520, you know why it's great. This year nokia is again a contender with the XL; it has flash, 5" screen and 5MP/2MP cameras for less than $150, who will argue with that :D

And it's not even the first time this hapens; in 2012 the HTC One X had already 2GB of RAM, 1.5GHz quadcore, tegra 3 GPU and looked and performed a lot better than the mediocre Galaxy S3, which is again considered the best phone of 2012 and sold a lot more to people that now want to throw it out of the window.

htc made unrivalled waves with the introduction of htc one, no denying it's an excellent phone but htc butterfly s exceeds the boundaries of excellency...

I know a year is a long time in the tech world but I would expect the Moto G to win an award next year for bringing outstanding features and technology to such an affordable price point thereby shaking the market, just like the Nokia Lumia 520 has done so in the past year.

They should add a new category, Smartphone with the most Bloatware, Samsung would be unbeatable at that or Best Smartphone for Elderly People, I'm sure S5 would win in this category next year thanks to its in-built heart rate sensor.

HTC one and HTC Butterfly s is the best in 2013 everybody agree about that and I think after samsung s4 loss 2013 the S5 will loss too 2014 and It will be between HTC, Sony and Apple

AnonD-77322, 25 Feb 2014can't consider htc best with that battery, htc front logo a... moreProud owner of a HTC One, all I can say is that the battery can be an issue but it can be fixed aswell with a little research, as in now I've had my One on moderate use for 2 whole days and its at 34%, expecting to squeeze one more day out of it.
