As a person who has an iPhone for work I cannot understand what the fascination is. I purchased an Android tablet to fill the void in my life since I will inevitably cancel my personal cell service and lose my Android cell. :(
I've been putting it off too long, but I know it's the right thing to do.. .. but to give up the Android experience entirely just won't work..

Hey, if I want to change the settings in my email why do I have to leave my email and go to settings to make that change? Why can't I just bring up a settings menu for the email itself?
Hey, when I slide an app over to the side in my LG G2, why can't I do something similar on my iPhone? It's really boils down to usability.. The iPhone is pretty much a phone with a web-browser that you can play games on.. But for adults, the Android OS is a workhorse that beats IOS on every front.. PS - 2 seconds ago I recorded audio and made that my ringtone without having to use iTunes.. ;)
Oh, and I downloaded the flappybirds apk and installed it on my tablet 2 hours ago..

But I do dare take your position one step further: Android is way better than iOS and as a matter of fact, I can't even understand why computer-literate people buy Apple products in the first place. Yes, they are good products in the sense that they don't usually fail or implode. That and the app ecosystem iOS users enjoy are the only good features about it, and the latter is only due to the platform's sheer popularity, not to its inherent virtues.
There's nothing quite special about an iPhone's specs and there isn't anything an iPad can do that a good ol' Nexus 10 (or a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 if you want something within its price range) can't.
Further, from a developer point of view, Android is way more comfortable and 'free', since you're not locked up with a single language (Objective-C is as far as you can go on iOS) or framework and more importantly, it's way easier to get your apps out on Android. I mean, you can even distribute them in your own website through APK files and people may install and launch them without having to perform any nasty jailbreaks or voodoo on their devices...
I'm sick of all this ignorant people claiming Apple's products are awesome just because they've been brainwashed by the company's clever marketing strategies and the deceivingly shiny looks of their products.
I mean, even Firefox OS, being as young as it is, is already looking better than what the whole iOS scene can offer.

boomer, 26 Feb 2014how long has the ipad air been out? a little while plus its... moreWhen I started to look at tablets first was Sony tablet (previous one) but it was bit old specs wise, then I had a look at Note 10.1 2014 - this one on the paper had really impressive specs. So I watched some video reviews and I noticed some lagging which really annoys me when I know that device is powerfull enough to run things smothly specially UI. After that I had a look on ipad review and some head to head review with Note and smotheness on ipad was in a differemt league. Never had any apple device but as far as the tablet goes ipad seem to deliver really pleasing user experiense. Even when some numbers are smaller than competitors.

Xperia Tablet Z2 in Poland starts from 2099zl which is around 500 euros. 2299zl for 32GB version and 2699zl for LTE which is around 650 euros.

in americas, except USA, canada and par... moreI am agree with you about you pay higher, there is a simple reason, taxes. I live in Alberta Canada and taxes here are 5%, meanwhile in Uruguay (South America) taxes are 22%. $500+5%= $525, $500+22%= $610.
Do you see the difference?
