Finally !!!
Said it for years that a phone's screen should use crystal sapphire and be waterproof.
At the time tho, touchscreens worked on pressure, so it couldn't be done.
Now if only iPhone really also bumps its specs while keeping "The Look" with proper Bluetooth-exchange, that would be the best smartphone ever ( provided it's waterproof up to 3m for unlimited time.

Expected to make 500-700 mil. $ when the price is 3-4 times bigger than 3$?????
Then Apple have to make between 55 and 59 million units in the first 6 months...."Yeah right!!!"
And then you say that the number of units is unknown, THEN HOW THE HELL YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE?

I'm planning to switch to Apple this year because I want to try iOS. Being a Sony fan, the reason I chose Sony is because their great build quality which is the best, besides HTC in the Android world. Sony is just underrated, not like Samsung which is just way too overrated. So I'm expecting great build quality from Apple as well.

I'm pretty sure I can buy a small car with the upcoming price of the iPhone 6. And whatever happened to just using a screen protector for the glass or just getting a phone case?

I hope it costs at about $3000 with dual core 1.3 gz,1gz ram, 3.5 inch tft display, 1000 mah battery life and 100 millions sales in a week bought by I-PEOPLOFOOLED. wow that is awsome

why would they move from gorilla glass to old less effective tech? I'm not bashing sapphire coating, but if it's the same as the one's in watches, then it doesn't sound all too exciting..., everybody knows that it scratches and breaks. Just sounds like going 2 steps back...

I don't use iPhone, but i am excited about this. It will be a jewel. But what about the price? $1000-$1200 off contract?

Even with 4.7" retina display, it is considered too samll comapring the current flagship smartphone like Galaxy S5 or Xperia Z2.
Apple please use at least 5" or 5.25" for iPhone6!
As for phablet iPhone6, please use at least 5.7" or 5.9".

One of the biggest arguments against iPhone by the naysayers has been the screen, and to a certain extent, I agree that that choice should have been offered.
When the iPhone 6 is released, there will be a lot of haters just seething with anger with one of their favourite arguments being taken away.

As I expected .. iphone 5s home button is a sapphire glass. if the whole screen is made out of pure sapphire glass it will be very expensive. Apple must upgrade the phone battery also since the size becomes bigger, and the 5s struggles in terms of battery life, but still impressive considering the fact that it has only 1560mah battery. I guess that's thier main reason on making the iphone 6 bigger. battery runtime is very important specially for those people who frequently use their mobile data. definitely if this happens. Iphone 6 will be the greatest phone in terms of build quality, great performance and superior design.

The biggest issue with iPhone is the battery life!
Apple please solve the battery life before doing something else!
