Anonymous, 15 Feb 2009its not 6.5k its 65k that actually make a huge difference t... moreNo, it can also use capacative screens, just look up the Meizu M8.
(A WinMo phone that uses a capacative screen)

If you want to blame someone for the fact that most have resistive screens, blame the Asians, they want their all important handwriting recognition...
(But then again, they need it, otherwise they wouldn't be able to create messages fast enough)

Mr. Potatohead, 15 Feb 2009The phone looks promising but i hope the battery will be he... moreI hope you meant 1200, because if it was 3200 it would make the phone about 2-3cm thick...

      And these phones:
I think the Omnia HD is really nice, but I'm far more interested in Nvidia Tegra devices.
If those didn't exist this would be an instant buy.
(BTW, I really hope they're finally announcing some Tegra devices at the MWC...)

Sorry Nokia but not worry, the market leader will remain because it has a marketing strategy that works. For proof, their first touch, the 5800 XpressMusic, was far from finished, with a classic, etc ... yet, and strangely, it has sold a million copies in 3 days, while the Iphone 3G has been 1 month and more to match that score. Nokia always amazes me. In fact, 8 million pixels, touch, with optical zoom, and full of surprises (pleasant) and indeed in preparation, then again, it's going to hurt .. Already the 32 GB Nokia N97 surpasses all other technology, then .. Good luck to the competition. The Finnish giant is the rage:)

Wow! I've never been a fan of samsung I just never liked their phones in the past. I'm more of a nokia & SE fan but lately samsung has been releasing some interesting phones and to be honest I think that if nokia & SE don't release anything that is almost like the omnia HD, then I think the omnia HD might be my first samsung phone. Kudos to samsung for making me considering buying their phones! I guess that's why their currently number 2 in the market

                  hi from indonesia.
i really believe that omnia HD is way better than n97.
no offense to nokia, i loved it too.
but im trying to be fair, samsung nowadays has prooven to the world that korea is one of the major power in electronic producers..
we'll see who is the winner :)

                                omnia hd

i really hope that doesnt mean windows mobile, with a pressure sensitive screen (cos u hv to use a stylus with winmo and capacitive doesnt let u do so), and 65k colors (cos winmo doesnt support more). if it uses winmo then the max resolution will be 800x480 like on htc hd, xperia x1, toshiba tg01 ... . xperia will hv more dpi - unless they go with a screen smaller than 3". tg01 will hv a bigger screen - unless samsung make it bigger than 4.1" and with the specs they r gna include that wud make the phone huge. winmo has nvr been gud at taking photos. even the 5mp cam of htc hd looks bad compared to other 3mp cams of the old SE camera phones.

...just hope it wont use winmo (like omnia)

Actually i read about Both Sale phones Nokia N97 & Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, No doubt both sale phones are awesome but to beat competition they should reduce their handset price for starting days of handset releasing.. Samsung omnia (OS) is similar Like previous Omnia i900,
just difference of few features just like 8 MP Digital Camera i think they should improve their sound quality like Nokia,
Now Come to the Nokia N97, N97 is very different more than previous Nokia sale phones, Specialy (Simbian 5th edition) With TFT touch screen,
but i m upset with Nokia N97 Camera,Why still Nokia haven't increase their Camera into the 8 MP....
But No doubt this is very important competition between Nokia N97 Vs Samsung i8910 Omnia HD ..
If Samsung sounf quality is just average same is it Nokia Camera 5MP...
Well lets c the future and fight between both of them....
Best wishes for Nokia and Samsung..
But my Vote goes to Nokia ....

danny X, 15 Feb 2009I'm just wondering why Nokia lets Samsung use it's Symbian.... moreNokia doesn't own Symbian at all anymore. They bought up all remaining shares in 2008 and then gifted the whole thing to the Symbian Foundation.

"The Symbian Foundation is a non-profit foundation, that came into existence when Nokia acquired Symbian Ltd. in its entirety.

Announced on June 24 2008 by Nokia, Sony Ericsson, NTT DoCoMo, AT&T, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments and Vodafone, the Symbain Foundation was established to "provide royalty-free open platform and accelerate innovation" with the intent to unite Symbian OS, S60, UIQ and MOAP(S) to create one open mobile software platform."
