suddenly changed to 2.7GHz when Snapdragon 801 was announced

That does not look like a USB 3.0 port at the bottom of that right side picture, looks more like generic 2.0 as with most phones, I hope this is the year 3.0 is making the transition to all phones, more charging speed and transfer rates, fine for me, saw a few sites comparing 2.0&3.0 and even the earliest versions show at least 2-3x speed increase.
