The HTC ONE grabbed the phone of the year title for a reason, and it wasn't the camera, but because it provided the best user experience and the nice design. And this new ONE will probably be one of the best regardless of its camera. So guys, stop bashing the HTC ONE and go buy a lumia 1020 if you want a good camera.

Because the 2013 htc one has an atrocious camera. Even in low light situations it was barely better than many other high end phones camera's and the lack of Mp's crushed any detail.
If it was minimum 8m ultra pixels then sure, otherwise, another 4m Up sensor...what a waste.
A recent test may be that the second camera is a 16 Mp camera so that would be good if that is true :)

A lot of noobs and lamers are buying a phone only for the camera that is why no one likes HTC One and the new m8 that is also the reason everyone is complaining about the Ultrapixel ! If a phone doesent have a 1000 mp camera it is not good , it doesent mater if it has a lot of good things in it !

I can't understand you people with all that chat about the camera's megapixels, until now the device is not officially out yet and all the specification we got for it is either rumor or a guess, give the device a break until at least it is officially revealed, then continue your fight when you are standing on a rock...or maybe just maybe you don't have anything else to do except chatting

i guess they remain 4UMP on HTC M8 because last year stock still have, so this year remain 4UMP just market it as DUAL Camera to make it look like unique.

Ok HTC... What's next for this new device? Will we get gold tint on camera now? They should have pushed the pixel numbers to 8mp at the very least... Ultrapixel is a gimmick! Yeah it has a large sensor compared to average phones but that's "average" phones! Galaxy s4 has the same ultrapixel sensor size with higher megapixel count and now S5, Z1, Z1 Compact & Z2 has alot bigger sensor size than this device's ultrapixel sensor.

Htc should widen availability of the new One in more places than just London as the S5 will be available soon. They can surely steal a piece of S5 if made availeble bfor 10th April. Will be sweet revenge against de korean plastic makers

Megapixels aren't everything but they certainly contribute to a better picture. Yes the low light problems aren't the fact it was using ultrapixels instead of megapixels, and only very few. But it has become a standard now for phones to have 8mp, and hearing the M8 only has 5MP on the rear is terrible, I was expecting 8mp or more from HTC after the last disaster. Going with the Z2

Many of the camera sensors on the HTC Ones were defective. Mine was.. :( I sent to HTC and they repaired it for free. It's a warranty issue. works like a charm with the new sensor. I'd recommend contacting them if you care about that feature.

Better yet, go get yourself a old phone with a .3mp camera, take some photos and then write a comment that makes sense.
