All-touch Motorola with a Kodak camera and xenon in the works

23 Feb, 2009
It seems like Motorola are finally prepping a high-end imaging device. Yes, you read it right. Leaked shots show a large touchscreen device with 5 megapixel autofocus camera, xenon flash and much more...

about time moto made a move i always used to check up on new phones that they had brought out but recently they all been lacking in up-to-date features, there not always essential but to keep in the game there a must have for all theses technology heads craving for the 1000mp camz and multi-touch screen devices, hopefully this is the first of manny new phones to be relised by moto :)

diabolic53, 23 Feb 2009probably linux ... Moto has the tendency and the experience... moreSo much rumors about this phone to the point I'm totally unsure of anything...

Some sources indicate these photos are mockups from Zn5 and whatever else.

Meanwhile, regarding the O/S, not too long ago Moto already announced it will stop making phones with Linux (which is sad as I think Linux is more user friendly than Windows Mobile) and Symbian UIQ (which I wish Moto hsd never joined the party!). The announcement (probably somewhere within GSM Arena as well) mentioned Moto will concentrate on 3 OS: P2K (low end) Windows Mobile (mid-end) and Android.

Hence don't take anything I say 100% this time either.

i luv motorola so, i hope it comes out soon. i also expect some extra important features that moto has kept away like GPS, wi-fi, 3G and radio. if it comes out with android OS it'll be success and i'll certainly buy it.

Don’t compare Motorola with SE and HTC and Samsung brands...
Every smart phone in the world must using Motorola technology
Because Qualcomm FREESCALE, ARM, Marvell names dependent to Motorola and Motorola dependent to Texas semiconductor group.
Ha its joke, SE FAN BOYS Can enjoy with their XPERIA X1 With Motorola Qualcomm processor .

This could be IT. If it only had android even wm 6.5 would be good.
Only problem touch HD has is it's screen compared to iphone.
If this beast has Capacitive touch screen it's mine no mather what.
kodak camera is 100% beter than hd camera and flash.
I only hope it's android device or wm 6.5 with good processor.

Awesome. I've always admired Motorola's quality and UI. Although they've seemed to lag behind in the past couple of years in the high end smartphone arena, but this could be a great comeback for Moto. I do hope it would utilize Android and not winmo.

Dude motorola is one of the leading innovators in the world. I guess you need to figure that out. The hardware quality which motorola provides is outstanding.

The ZN5 is an excellent phone for its price. So if this one is a ZN5 with a touch screen, and it is selling at the same mid-to-high range price, then I don't think there's anything wrong with the phone. ZN5 has wifi, solid camera, good telephony; now combined with a touchscreen, what more do you want for a mid-to-high-range phone?

Motorola may be falling behind in terms of sheer technology, but technological innovation might not be everyone's cup of tea; there is a huge market out there that is looking for quality multimedia devices at an equally quality price. It makes sense to produce a phone that, on the specs, is solid for most user, and that it looks fairly good, even if it is almost a copy of HTC. Originality and technological advance are not the only two criteria for a spot in the market; price is also an important factor.

After all, who needs a 12 MP camera for every day usage? 5 MP must have been enough for most users, since this year SE put forward the C901 AND the C903 (as if the C902 is not enough), all of them 5 MP cameras. And Nokia only has one camera phone that is 8 MP. LG has two, and they already came out. Samsung has a few 8MP phones, but it is a complete waste of a camera if it does not have xenon flash (what good would 8MP do at a nightclub when there is little light from the LED flash?)

I would hesitate in criticizing Motorola so harshly...

Funny how that word comes up,"copy" there was a time when motorola was the one setting the pace for cell phone design. funny how no one noticed others copying there concepts....i will admit however there struggles to stay / keep up with the times, but it's sad when people forget where all this stuff started. But the HTC touch Pro 2 is my next phone unless Moto comes with something better.
