is there a difference on where its made? i asked a seller where the phone was made he said china.. but the one on this site says hungary.. lol.. does it matter?

One newspaper in HK received over 20 complaints of 5800 with unstable ear piece volume problem,
7 other cases involved phones got hung up to the point they couldn't be switched off.
2 other cases involved phone could not make or receive call
2 cases involved auto adjustment of the screen...either totally white or totally dark
The almighty brand refused to quote the number of complaints, repaire, or exchanged involved (for the city)
And of course the company "cares" about the customers so much to the point it wanted to ensure all customers should use their handsets as much as possible, hence a "total recall" was out of the question.

btw macfixit.com offers a do it yourself battery replacement kit with tools and instructions for $50.

3g -3.6Mps
3.5g -7.2Mps
rogers is the only company in N.A that has the full 3g and 3.5g 27 companies do it in the world
and for all the phones that support 3.5g
NAM automatically change to 3.5g speed
so if i had the N96 it would change to 3.5g
and D/L and U/L at 7.2Mps

No, you're wrong 'bro'. I thought I was clear in my previous post, but perhaps not. I am in the US. In the US AT&T requires that you get the data plan with the 3G iphone. There is no way around that. It's no longer 'optional' like it was with the 2G iphone. So while you guys (and gals) up in Canada my have the option, we here do not.

btw i have that silenc... moreIf the profile is silent then the silence button is inactive and its active for other profiles. also there is only one silence button(not 2 as i wrongly mentioned before) thanks about that info on reject button :D
i dont have a screenshot application, so i cant upload the image of the 2 buttons. also, where shud i post?? all i can say that they are both of the same size.
can you tell me whether your proximity sensor is working as before. mine gets active only if the person on the other side picks up the call. also the screen takes time to switch off when i take my hand close to the sensor. it was working fine in v11. :(

if u cant see a reject button on screen go to settings-calling-call-reject call with a message - select this to NO!
hey can u post a pic or something if u can of your two calling buttons! i tried everything in vain! my active loudspeaker button is bigger than the other.. looks damn weird!

the secondary camera on 5800 gi... more1. actually, its the reverse. when you switch on the camera, it shows the mirror image, and when you take a snap, it captures the real image.
2. While calling both those buttons(in my unit) are of the same size. but i have a strange problem now. When i receive a call, there used to be a reject button on screen(in v11). now(in v20) there is a silence button, moreover it's inactive. Not a great deal as there already is a dedicated reject button(and one more silence button on screen which is active), but its a bit annoying.
Also, the font of the virtual keypad has increased and it looks dirty now. But there are some nice animations on the tags.

i have heard it from many....its a minor connection fault in the unit. Some videos are availaible on youtube on how to fix it. But my advise to you is "Go to the nearest nokia care and they will fix it for free."
luckily i dont have this problem.

Anonymous, 07 Mar 2009hi, you said that when you downloaded the v20.0.012 now ava... moreYou need a nokia software updater installed on your pc. go to the nokia site, you will find it there. the size is 24.4mb. after installing the updater, connect your fone via usb and start the application. your fone will be detected and it will check for the update by itself.....then do as the software says and it will download the updated version. the size of v20.0.012 is 124.6mb. after downloading it will install it on your fone.
inshort all you have to do is dl the updater, and the rest is simple.
please note that update via fone directly is also possible, but i haven't tried it.
go to settings>phone>phone mgmt.>device updates
then options>check for updates....i dnt knw after this

2nd.. when u call a person the active loundspeaker icon is bigger than end call icon
this is with respect to v20 firmware only..

basic plan is75 buck and if you already hve a plan you 30 bucks which is 3gb a month

Kyuubi, 07 Mar 2009Lol i have a 2 legit Nokia E70 batteries the extra one was ... more$A40=$CAN32, don't forget I also got the USB charger cable and it also works as an adapter so I can use a mini USB to charge my phone, like my Navman charger, my wife's Motorola charger, my old blackberry charger or just a USB cable at a friends place.
So it's a lot more than just a battery.
The standard iPhone supports sending a SMS to unlimited contacts, you don't need to do anything just keep adding them.
