i rest my case: "The HTC One (M8) audio quality is by far the best we've seen a mobile device produce so far - and that's including tablets. Even its impressive predecessor pales in comparison with the latest HTC flagship, which is not only the loudest around, but also delivers perfectly clean output.
The HTC One (M8) did perfectly in the active external amplifier part of the test, posting great scores all over the field. In addition it had volume levels higher than every other mobile device on the market right now.
More impressively, there's virtually no degradation when you plug in a pair of headphones. The stereo crosstalk rises so little that it remains better than what some smartphones deliver without headphones. The rest of the readings remain perfect too, while the volume is as high as they come. What do you know - dropping the Beats logo actually led to even more spectacular performance by the HTC flagship."

koushik sengupta, 25 Mar 2014I am a samsung user... But i think htc M8 is far better tha... moreThe HTC One has a better forward facing camera, but also is run by a lower process chipset, Lets not even talk about how the forward facing camera is mainly used to post something on facebook or other social media... what degrades the quality of the image to something around 2MP anyways. Screen difference is marginal but anything above ~280-300ppi on a 5-6 inch screen is not going to be noticeable to the human eye, and the higher pixel count is just going to draw more power. The GS5 has a larger battery and is removable vs. the HTC still being non removable. Not to mention all of the other features of the GS5. Plastic Fantastic may have won this one my friend.

Pretty sure the 3rd creepy presentation guy said it'd be available to order for Canadian networks today also...
Man - he was a scary looking Samsung basher!
