I have not had a good phone from tmobile yet,. What do you think? Should I get it for her? Or is it another expensive piece of plastic that won't last for even a year?

You won't get any help from them. They don't do any good for their customers. They are just in it to rip off customers.

and for sure, the usual Samsung problems:
          - short lasting battery power.
          - Weak mobile signal.
          - Heavy phone.....

I've been with T-Mobile since they were Powertel (90's) and haven't bought one of their phones since they started. I just find it funny that a company that focuses so heavily on Wifi always selects phones that have no Wifi.

It is not like there aren't plenty of phones with wifi on ebay for example, so just get one there already. What is the point of even bothering with what t-mobile offers? I have been with them since they were VoiceStream (technically, they bought VS 7 years ago or so) and I haven't bought a phone from t-mobile since 2006, when they started the BS with the no-wifi smartphones. The reason, as stated in several other posts, is obvious, what is not is why people would rather save a hundred bucks and buy an inferior phone without wifi (which is especially stupid if you roam outside the country) and not just get an unlocked smart off the net... I would highly recommend HTC's, owned a Touch Cruise, a Diamond and now an HD, the UI is superior to any other WinMo interface, and actually somewhat compensates all the shortcomings of WinMo, they are dependable, and have everything you may ever wish for. As a matter of fact the HD is even cool looking. If you find the iPhone interface more suitable, you can put it on top of WinMo as well, it is not that hard and there is plenty of info how to do that.

Went to check out this phone on Friday at a T-Mobile store. My first impression was that the look is horrible. How can someone expect to show off this rubbish looking phone to anyone is just surprising. I admit the pixtures are satisfactory, but I would never show off this phone to anyone for more than a minute. It's shameful!

Why does T-Mobile insist on getting phones that don't have Wi-Fi? The reason is simple: T-Mobile decided that they are losing money because
                                    1) Their plans are cheaper with more minutes than others,
                                    2) They still allow their customers to go with 1 Year contracts, and
                                    3) T-Mobile is getting ready to launch 3G Network across the Nation...and probably 4G...maybe. Currently right now they only have it in certain states.

I mean, they have to make money somehow. You can't always have what you want. Of course I look for Wi-Fi too...but you can't complain that T-Mobile is stupid for not taking in Wi-Fi phones. They are losing money on Data Plans!

SEs are awesome but they have had one problem for the longest. Their keypads go bad too soon. I had to repair every one of my SEs in about 6-8 month after purchase. Otherwise, I agree, they are a lot more user friendly than Nokias. Life in SEs is so much easier, menu so better organized and options so much better customizable that there is no comparison. But the keypad issue has forced me to buy the 3rd Nokia in a row, unfortunately. Hate Samsungs...
