Anonymous, 01 Apr 2014why is it a joke?Dunno. Perhaps having a 14month old HOX+ and the stupid imbedded battery dying on you and you paying 50€ to replace it "under warranty".

I have never seen any warranties on batteries that last 2 years, it's always max 6 months.

This year, now that a lot more people are paying attention to HTC, HTC should see much better sales. Android people can now choose between Premium or Mediocre. (HTC or Samsung)

AnonD-108806, 31 Mar 2014This is a lie, I had some non-removable battery for longer ... moreYour anecdote is hardly proof that all batteries last forever. Some batteries last and some don't, depending on build quality, luck and usage.

If I blew $720 (or the actual $1000 price in my country for the HTC M8) on a phone I would want a useful life of more than two years, even if it wouldn't be my main device for that long. The biggest problem isn't that the battery is "non-removable" but that the phone is "non-servicable" (if it's like the first HTC One).

According to ifixit: "It's very difficult—although no longer impossible—to open the device without damaging the rear case. This makes every component extremely difficult to replace."

It will be a nice addition for encouraging sales as it will give HTC plenty of room to create a perfect devic cause m8 lags behind in camera department other wise its almost perfect mobile experience inside n outside
