Sammy will hire the best lawyers in the world!

Android allies such as Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, ZTE, Huawei, ...etc join force to countersue Apple.

One has given staggeringly overpriced goods and the other has sold more phones than any other company in the world. I mean come on, one iPhone unit costs what $80 to the company? And Samsung sold more than 300 million S3 units alone...

At least the haters have gotten more quiet. Case after case, country after country, Samsung found guilty.

You can accuse one judge of being biased, but seriously, even a Korean judge in a Korean court sided with Apple.

Better to take off the Samsung glasses and accept what happened. Everyone else already did.

Meanwhile in Japan, Sony is trying to get their Xperia units in gear which is lagging behind and in Taiwan, HTC is trying to sell as many phones they can.

Anonymous, 01 Apr 2014This is just silly, slide-to-unlock isn't a kind of complex... moreSlide to unlock is a unique way to activate a touchscreen. Apple could have used a special hardware button. Or a slide-out keyboard to enter a passcode. Instead, they utilized a unique touch-based action.

Somebody had to think of a way for a phone to ignore accidental screen activation and to register intentional screen activation. Slide to unlock was Apple's answer to this when it developed iOS. The competition can license the design or come up with their own solution.

Do any of you realize that Apple is just doing what ANY company would do when it comes to maintaining intellectual property rights?

Apple is a small company when compared to a conglomerate giant such as Samsung. If I spent my lifes work developing software, I am quite certain I would want to protect it as well.

Stop being so emotional about this. If it were the other way around, I bet people would be cheering for Samsung.

How about the next time you go from your business working from a garage to a billion dollar fortune 500 company and competitors want to "borrow" your tech, you just sit on your hands and watch it happen?

                    No?... Didn't think so.

Google engineers won't be much help when it is Samesung engineers who skinned the UI to look like iOS.

Anyway, licensing agreements are not unusual. Microsoft makes $$$ on every Android device sold due to its licensed patents. HTC has entered a licensing agreement with Apple in order to lawfully utilise some of their design patents. Samsung needs to stop acting like an adolescent. It was caught with its pants down designing lookalikes and should man up and negotiate terms with Apple.

Eh, Apple actually needs that money to stay afloat these days, everyone can see that the post-Steve Apple is going the same route as the early 90s Steve-less Apple. Wonder when they'll resurrect the Newton. :-D

God damn you apple. I had enough of news of you suing someone. I know you have the courts on your side. I know you are working for NSA. Leave everyone alone. You became so much annoyance. I wish people wake up like me and desert you to shit. You might have quality products but your human feelings are gone. For me, this was the last drop. Even if you make the best, which i doubt u ever do anyway anymore, i will not buy it. You can keep your devices. You became so greedy!!!!

This is just silly, slide-to-unlock isn't a kind of complex and unique feature that should receive a patent.

If this is possible, IBM should sue Apple for including a touchscreen in a phone. IBM did it already in 1993.
