Also, nice to notice, the 600MHz processor in the Firestone is basically a downclocked Snapdragon!

????, 06 Mar 2009The questions 1) How is Windows Mobile less stable than ... moreYou are damn right! I just hate it when people "review" things without even trying them out. I mean, I've tried Symbian on an N95 8GB and I can assure you it is damn slow and very unstable. Keeps restarting the phone. I haven't tried Windows Mobile so I can't compare unlike some people. They make all this nonsense because they're POOR! That's right. Symbian devices are relatively cheaper than winmo devices by a couple hundred dollars. They haven't tried one because they can't afford it. Damn. I hate those poor people. They show you on t.v. they're like helpless and innocent but they're really savages! They stole my friend's N95 8GB that I was asked to keep for a while. Good thing my friend is rich and bought an Omnia instead.

Hmmm... Based on the roadmap, is Snapdragon worth waiting for? I mean it seems like the 'next gen' thing. But WM6.5 is available for Quallcomm processors. But would WM7.0 scheduled for 2010 work only with Snapdragon?

                          The questions

                          1) How is Windows Mobile less stable than Symbian on a daily basis?
                          2) Has anyone I mean anyone not interested in Windows Mobile actually used a WM6.0 device?

                          The answers

                          1) Having used Sony Ericsson's A200, Nokia S40, Nokia S60 and now Windows Mobile 6.1, I can assure the people who haven't picked up a Windows Mobile phone that WM6.1 is as stable as S60 on a daily basis. It becomes less stable when you try to do things S60 can't.

                          2) If you answered no and conclude Windows Mobile sucks, then please at the very least, go out and TEST, and I mean TEST a WM6.1 device. Just TEST. Just go to a shop, pick up the phone and spend 15 minutes with it. If for some reason S60 N Series is the benchmark, then please test a high end WM device before making conclusions.

Its unfortunate that HTC's OS choice is windows mobile. Having owned the HTC touch pro, Although packed with great features, but was doomed by windows mobile OS. HTC phones would have a more solid foundation if only they adapt a more stable OS. I.E. symbian.

This is all fabulous...except for ONE little problem, I simply don't want a windows device!

                              I WANT ANDROID!!!

HTC has already worked with the Android O/S, it's FREE and people want it!

So what seems to be the issue HTC?

WTF, is that it? No point upgrading from a Touch HD...

I'm moving to the Samsung Omnia HD!

BTW, the camera really sucks on WM devices compared to Nokia's , Samsung, SonyEricsson etc. I do love WM devices but the camera really sucks so even if they up to 8MP it will still suck.

if only HTC's cameras would be on par with Samsung... anyway, I will chose Omnia HD (if the reviews will be good). I think that anything beyond 4 inch isnt practical as a mobile phone, well, until we get any folding displays

"Fails to impress"? What on Earth is that supposed to mean? Win-Mo standard OS? It has always been among devices like those shown here.

I do, however, notice the strategy HTC has this year. It just gets successful devices and then improves them. Maybe what "fails to impress" means is "why HTC launches devices on increments rather than real innovations".

But many manufacturers have taken this strategy recently, including the super-duper-market-leader Nokia. Maybe because they want to maintain profit rather than some innovations that imply certain financial risks.
