"The panel is of Sharp's own IGZO variety, allowing for thinner footprint than traditional TFT displays."

Another clarification: SHARP AQUOS PHONE XX 302SH still uses S-CG Silicon panel for its display, not their own new IGZO.

It's not new. The AQUOS PHONE XX 302SH had been announced in October 2013 as part of SoftBank's Winter Collection. Didn't you remember? http://www.gsmarena.com/softbank_announces_sharp_aquos_xx_and_aquous_xx_mini-news-6924.php. Clarification: its front camera's resolution is 1.2 Megapixel, NOT 12 Megapixel.

Mobilemaster, 08 Apr 2014You are so wrong. Japanese companies had waterproof phones ... moreWhat a useless comment. For several reasons.

                            1) it's just a empty statement, which phone in example?

2)The Finns had the first waterproof smartphone in 2006, running symbian. The 5500 Sport.

                            3) I was talking about waterproof android phones - and especially those launched internationally making them actually relevant.

Please feel free to actually show/link to a japanese android phone which was waterproof before the Motorola DEFY. And for that matter, just a smartphone before the Nokia 5500 Sport.

What did they do to avoid accidental palm touches on this one? Its almost one mm more narrow than LG G2, making it impossible to handle. I like the length but not sure the width is practical, unless they came up with something that is even better than iPad's thumb rest feature, and i doubt it.

Either way, this new model looks quite good and slim frame is always desirable.

I have a Sharp phone SH102. It was a very good phone in that year. It has waterproof and removable battery with SD card. Way before any company produced waterproof smartphone. But only in Japan. I bought from Japan. But only support 3G.
