kyuubi, 13 Mar 2009 have you seen the durability test and the firmware update ... moreIts not the firmware its the fact that the phone is not good and neither is the touchscreen. I use the phone every day as I sell them.. they are crap! The phone costs £85 on pay as you go... its basically a cheap crappy phone that people think is amazing. The iphone costs £400 to buy. Thats the difference. The look and feel of the 5800 is cheap and plastic in real life. Not sure if you have them in the states yet? If you do..compare it to the iphone..

and if the iphone is made out of such premium materials how come everyone is protecting it like a newborn child
one drop and it's over i've seen i happen a dozen times and all i do is laugh cause they have to cancel pay off the term and then get a new phone XD cause warrenty doesn't cover physical damage

i rather use standard linux that apples version
Unix really sucks man since apple mangled it
pluse the reason why OSx is so fast is cause it's a RAM driven OS so no matter how much garbage it has it will run fine but the funny thing i NO DRIVERS to support the OS that are all ready on it

Haha 5800...they are terrable phones...we can sell them on the cheapest tariffs like £15 per month as everybody has them. Touch screen is rubbish, internet browser is dire plus they look cheap and plastic. The iphone is a premium product made of quality materials and is sold on premium tarrifs. In a few months 5800's will be everywhere as the sales staff make a bomb from peoples stupidity of buying them.

[deleted post]Did you know that both Chinese keyboards on the iPhone, simplified and traditional have a handwriting option.

There isn't a keyboard as such, just a large blank area where you draw with your finger and you are presented with a choice of possible characters.

I just dont see the point in people getting so annoyed and wound up about which phone is best. They all have different good points and bad points (including the iphone) but it depends on whats important for different people. I work in the mobile phone industry for a living and have an iphone as its meets my needs. Fair enough there are some faults with it (camera not the best etc.) but it depends on your individual needs. Even if it had all the features on it, it could be too big and bulky or ugly looking. The iphone just seems a good all rounder.

[deleted post]I thought you could never get further of the mark, but you have surprised me and done it! Given that you do not know me, I am truly fascinated by the depth of your erroneous conclusions about me. If I were a "bandwagon" follower we would not be having this discussion since I would use MS products given their prevalence. But I prefer to use the tools work best for me rather than fight with insecure, poorly designed products, with difficult user interfaces (and save the "you are stupid remarks" as you can never demonstrate that any6 MS UI is particularly user friendly). I have been developing complex software for years and MS devices for some things, and I use apple for many other things.

It is not that I do believe apple products add any cachet to my life, they just provide better tools for some things that I do. In any system design, ease of use and integration is one of the key reasons that the market flocks to a product. Why do you think MS Office is so popular? Not because it was ever better than WordPerect or Lotus, but because it had a couple of excellent products (like Excel) and a bunch of good enough products across a broad spectrum of tools and integrated and easy to use. The market buys into that since it provides the most for the money.

On the fringe, people like you resist this since you somehow feel that you are "thinking out of the box" or are a "renegade". that is fine for you, but if you will just listen for once in your life, all i am trying to tell you is stop telling others what they need to believe because you really have no basis to do that. In fact, you might be one of the last people on earth I would seek advice from.

So go about your life, post useful information, express your opinion, but do yourself and the rest of us a favor and stop trying to be the arbiter of good taste and judgement. The roel just does not suit you.
