Thats great news any ways apple will keep on manfacturing the small screen size over expensive phones.Any body will get the sick out of it....
Great move samsung hope one day u will knock down the apple....

Virtruvian, 20 Apr 2014Ha ha. I might like a premium built mobile, but I'm not no... moreExactly my point here. It's like Vertu with all you'd expect the highest quality you'd ever expect currently from the most expensive and has the "best" and rare material. You can just feel that leather, how incredible the weight must be for a metal phone and how confident you can be that the sapphire screen will never scratch. Second hand units of their Constellation series sell more than $10,000 on eBay.

The exterior is to behold, but function and specs wise, it SUCKS! No water resistance, no Wacom digitizer, no memory expansion, 1.3MP front camera, 13MP main camera an unspecified dual core Snapdragon, only a tiny 4.3" screen size, 32GB of internal memory, and no LTE connection. Are you willing to trade in you HTC One for this on the condition that you can't sell it? Most people don't even know what's Vertu.

The S5 or my Galaxy Note 3 blows the Vertu out of the water - function and features wise. I would think we all love to be practical to what suits us, and not just to fit in or impress because we have a shiny gizmo that does less than something that does more.

TheNeighbor, 19 Apr 2014Hey, If you are really into the best quality, with Sapphire... moreHa ha. I might like a premium built mobile, but I'm not not that crazy. Even if I could afford something like that, that takes opulence and bespoke to a whole new level.

I was never trying to be rude, I just like a good debate and you were a good debater as well.

Virtruvian, 19 Apr 2014Wow....So now plastic is better than metal and fake leather... moreHey, If you are really into the best quality, with Sapphire, titanium, and leather for showing off, you should get a Vertu phone.

Twice as strong as steel than damn aluminum. Even lighter. Sapphire for a scratchproof.

        http://m.gsmarena.com/vertu_constellation_2013-5868.php

        http://constellation.vertu.com/

Yeah, everything else has crappy materials compared to this. Even with the iphone. You like it? You want to be a premium material snob, you try getting one of the limited of these units.

It cost THOUSANDS $, comes with your own butler call service which you pay $$$ yearly. Even if you somehow can afford this, it only operates in 3G, not LTE.

        This should be for you.

Virtruvian, 19 Apr 2014Wow....So now plastic is better than metal and fake leather... moreSomehow your nickname here is quite the contradictory to the way you're thinking... an insult to da Vinci and Vitruvius.

I don't really care about being loyal to any particular branding, I happen to have bought and still am using two Apple products, because Apple's iPods are the best music players.

Samsung happens to answer my needs in my profession and hobby of sketching with the Note series. They work for me. If Sony, HTC, Apple or any other company come up with something that out rivals what the Note 3 does, I'm game.

This is what some iphone users are seeing in the S5. The S5 answers something they want and need over aluminum material build and iOS of Apple.

Just like what Pchan had stated, real leather isn't as durable. They peel and scratch easily.

Virtruvian, 19 Apr 2014Wow....So now plastic is better than metal and fake leather... moreOh and the real leather vs fake leather things u said. Yes the real leather is better in quality, But worst for its durabilty. As u may now samsung mix the fake leather with some kind of rubber, so it more durable than the real one, since if u may know, real leather is hard to maintain though the appearance is prettier.

Seems u're too fanboy to see that, aren't u?
Smart is counted by the numbers of functionality a smartphone can do if that doesn't clear.

Samsung is in you're head....You are hopelessly brainwashed.

I do CAD and BIM with 64-bit processing with my Windows 8 laptop. The iPhone can even do real multi-tasking windows with its 64-bit processor.

I keep my devices with side and back covers. Real leather will never last. Duh. Although I do agree with you they flimsy chrome finished sides.

I did say "and others". Pay attention. Apple is replicating what customers of the competition want, like the colourful bodies, that didn't work at all.

Yes, the 5c. $550. Damn. I can say Apple tried to be greedy with that product with lack of innovation. 16GB 5s for $650? And with limited features?

I'd rather have the plastic smartphone that has features I need than having some metal one that doesn't. Utter useless for "premium" price to me.

LOL...I had that feature on my Motorola ZN5 in 2008. That was running on a Linux OS.

Closing apps? You don't even need to close apps on iOS. It runs the exact same with zero lag. Have you even tried an iPhone?

Colorful plastic bodies on the 5C? Use of color is Android or Samsung's ideas? Actually the Nokia Lumia started that trend before everybody else.

And I never called the 5C premium..It's plastic. How can it be premium?

I am fully aware things scratch. It must be news to you though. At least it is still a uni-body construction & Apple tried to cater to ppl who wanted plastic. Samsung USED to use metal waaayyyy back in 2008 with the i8510 INNOV8, but they aren't capable of doing it in 2014? Pure greed & lack of innovation.

The use fake painted chrome, & even use faux leather on the Galaxy & the Note...for $700.00!!...Samsung won't even thrown in several inches of real leather for a Flagship device.....That is just sad.

I could care less who copies who. I have no vested interest in any of these companies, they are free to do whatever they want. Apparently Apple & the courts didn't see it that way and ruled in favor of Apple for Samsung patent infringement.

BUT...Apple is the ONLY company to have 64-bit architecture on a mobile device. Sounds like innovation to me. The 64 bit is what makes Apple's fingerprint ID scan the very first time, every time. Unlike Samsung's that poorly works & doesn't even require a pass-code after the finger ID has failed 50 times!!

Seriously. That is just lazy, or they don't care. Most likely both though.

It's a sign Apple h... moreYep, am just getting sicked with apple, they only concern with their big margins, and claiming patents with no more innovation. Am feel sorry for the iphone fanboy since they're being trapped in iphone (like their things bought in itunes will be gone if they change to non apple products) yet excused its for the premium feels they got. Heck i dont care the metal finished if its cost me lots of more function, features n no limitation that every smartphone should have nowadays. No mention that the 5c even have more silliness since its came both with plastics with it's limitation. If i want a metal body I could get the HTC M8, but i'd rather sticked with samsung since the metal unibody will cost more to repair, n i like samsung's features better, but thats my choice.

It's a sign Apple has ran out of ideas. Those pull down/up menus, panoramic picture taking, wireless transfers, manually turning off apps, colorful plastic bodies and now screen sizes, smartwatch.

Are you denying those ideas came from Android and other developments?

Oh, you talk as if Apple produces everything "premium". Remember the iPhone 5c?

                            http://www.flickr.com/photos/92800985@N06/sets/72157644080493732/

It cost $550 for a mere 16GB model. Another $100 gives you the 32GB model. No memory expansion, limited functions and restricted wireless transfers. For $50, we can get the features filled 16GB S5 that can expand up to 128GB (32GB more than enough), or even the now more affordable Note 3 32GB model. More than 100 more features than iOS.

We just agreed that both plastic or metal get scratched.

LOL...I am not claiming it is made of diamonds & titanium. Of course it can be scratched...just like anything you don't take care of. Plastic scratches just as easy..if not easier.

You need to search about the countless ppl dissatisfied with the fake & gaudy plastic chrome peeling away from their Galaxy S4 devices, or the owners of the Galaxy S2 owners that had peeling paint.

The ... moreTell you what, I'd get an iPhone if Apple provides it with a Wacom digitizer pen, 5.7" Super AMOLED FHD screen, infrared remote control, has a memory expansion, can universally transmit data via Direct Wi-Fi, no more iTunes to transfer music, removable battery and is water resistant. Apple is copying Android features anyway.

The thing is, they aren't providing. People are going for stuff Apple is simply NOT providing. If course you know how easy swiping text input is on Android.

And your HTC One is sure a fine Android device, but again has no removable battery or Wacom digitizer. No matter how aluminum feels good, sales are speaking to what people want. The M8 does look good, and the sound system quite good, but again HTC missed the features I personally need.

What use of a heavy metal build when you wrap it with a cover because aluminum is a malleable material that can dent and scratch easily without protection:

Bottom line of this report is some of current iPhone owners aren't happy with what Apple has to offer anymore. They don't care about aluminum build. They don't care about how snappy iOS is. They want features they need.
