Dick C., 23 Apr 2014In options you can switch to software on screen buttons. Maybe it is possible but the awful ugly hardware buttons are still present they do not disappear. The OneMinus company could remove them and shorten the smartphone.

Marketing does. People want to know why a particular brand is great, not because it's got a Snapdragon, but because it's powerful. 95% of brands fail to realise this.

[deleted post]I don't disagree that price is important, but many people these days buy phones on contracts, so it's not the biggest concern. Looks, simplicity of use and a bit of marketing is everything.

One Plus have done an ordinary job in marketing. Why do I say that? In Australia, not a single news site has picked up on it. Samsung GS5 & iPhone 5S dominate.

Astonishing! the phone is a piece of arts itself, and a real flagship that can easily beat other flagships out there and with a mid-range price too!! sadly it probably won't be available in my country but that's an amazing phone nonetheless.

Angry Mobile Nerd, 23 Apr 2014You guys are really falling for some excellent marketing on... moreClearly you skipped the part where the prices were stated. The specs are the same if not superior to every phone of this current gen that's already out, it's even using the newe 801 chipset on a last minute change. And all that for 350$ for the 64GB, explain to me how that is "falling for marketing". It sounds like the common sense go-to option. Unless you really don't know shit about mobile phones and just want to be a hipster that's calling out "marketing" on every tag line and photoshopped poster he sees.

Created so much hype but design looks very ordinary.
We expect very less bezels like LG G2.
Looking forward for LG G3 for its very best design.

Congrats, its pretty decent. Great for a debut. Too big for me but well done where its due.

You guys are really falling for some excellent marketing on OnePlus' behalf. You're all hyped up about "2014 flagship killer", "Never Settle" and the exclusiveness of requiring an "invitation" to buy the thing. Marketing Genius. Take everything away and what you have is a phone built by OPPO and almost identical to the Find7 as you will see other sites already making side-by-side comparisons.

I particular enjoy the "Never Settle" mantra although apparently you have to "settle" for a non-removable battery and no expandable storage. Interesting. Regarding the "2014 Flagship Killer", It's only Q2 2014 and we have yet to see the Note 4, Sony's fall flagship, the Mi4 and MX4 are all upcoming so I'd call this a Nexus-killer at best, at least until the Nexus 6 gets announced later this year too.

All the OnePlus One has proven is that to the international community the Cyanogen brand (although young) is more valuable than the Oppo brand. Though the price is something to get excited about, but the design and specs are nothing out of the ordinary for 2014.

It's a nice OPPO... but completely overhyped.
