Those who cry every time for Samsung, " same cheap plastic!", can't they see how repetitive this M8 is in design and style language. Plus they even omitted the OIS, possibly the stupidest thing.

M7 is a great phone, probably the best looking from HTC in a long period of time (despite I like more my HTC ONE X, regarding shape and size).
M8, on the other hand, screams unfinished/rushed product. Despite it's 90% metal, it's shape is very common. Everything in it, ad least for me, shows that they din't have the time to develop a proper phone. And I'm not talking about hardware specs, those are ok. Not talking about software either, Sense is the best overall Android UI right now. But if you look at it's size for a 5'' phone you see that it could be a lot smaller. And I understand, dual front speakers have to come with a price in size..it has to be longer. But the frontal HTC bezel with no use at all (on screen buttons make the 5" screen to actually be just 4.7" in usability, except video). They could fitted a lot better the phone in a smaller chassis. The best solution would have been using capacitive keys, with HTC logo instead of Home button and everything would have been perfect.
They are not stupid: they had chosen this solutions (HTC frontal bezel and dual camera with just 4UMP) because that's maximum they could do -they are not as rich as Samsung-). Of course they DO KNOW that 4UMP are NOT ENOUGH! I hope I don't get banned, but when I heard those explanation about how good is the 4UMP camera I remembered the discussion about dicks size and what's better..size or technique? Making a parallel..of course technique is better if you have a normal 13 Mp or 16 Mp...or even a 8 mp one (Apple). But if you have just a 4 UMP one, no matter how good your technique is..you're just a 4Mp-er..:D
I'm a HTC fan boy..but not a stupid one. I'm sticked with my HTC ONE X because M7 has a crappy camera and M8 is too big with a poorly designed buttons that take from the usability of the screen and also has a crappy camera with some extra gimmics. And of course, all those matter due to the price. If the smartphone market would have decent prices (around max 450 euro, like they did just 2 years ago) those wouldn't matter so much..but now, when they expect to buy a 675 euro flagship AND exchange it every year or every 2 years and that flagship is more expensive than a performant desktop with a decent monitor (that last you ad least 4 years) you have to be ok with every detail. And right now..I'm just not...

well, actually many people consider M8 a bit disappointing compared to the M7 design-wise.
The phone has much more rounded corners (which as far as I have heard many do not really like, myself included), and then there is this stupidest thing they could ever do leaving that hideous huge black bar with HTC logo while moving the buttons on screen.
Like someone already said, they could have make it a whole centimeter smaller or could have make bigger screen with same size or same size but leave the buttons like on M7...but hey, no...lets make it as worse as we can!
I really don't know what they were thinking...they managed to make one of the biggest 5" screen phones and that with on screen buttons, so I'm really not surprised to hear a news like this.

That's the 2nd high ranking person to leave HTC this week. Why are they leaving now that the company is really getting successful again? Probably Samsung or Apple made them offers they couldn't refuse. (They woke up with a horsehead next to them)

Good riddance. Someone must take responsibility of those ugly black bar on HTC M8. It's about time.

Scott Croyle leaving the company + the high cost of designing the Htc One M7 + low sales of the Htc One M7 + the inability of Htc One M8 to bring any improvement in design ( a decline in my view ) = THE HTC ONE M7 will keep the title of THE MOST ATTRACTIVE SMARTPHONE EVER BUILT for a long time .
