Absolute rubbish. Check on XDA developers. The S5, same as the Note 3 since it's update to Kit Kat, cannot be rooted without tripping Knox. So if this is the same it is a waste of time. When you know what you are talking about and can back it up with correct information come back to us.

Second what you are rambling about now is not the issue you portrayed in your initial comment.

But you obviously know a different form of writing then we do.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as of today if already running any Kit Kat ROM cannot be rooted without tripping Knox permanently and thus voiding the warranty. So a developer edition that still has this limitation is of little use to anyone really is it.

I don't get this idea of making locked phones by these phone manufacturers. Please, can someone who understands it better help.

What is the point of a developer edition that has the Knox malware on it? I define malware as software that I did not ask for, that I cannot get rid of that prevents me doing things I wish to do on a device I have paid for. Knox fits that perfectly and doubly so on this device if it is present.

Developer Edition is not a different version it is just an unlocked version so you can just say S5 and S5 Mini are different version. I think that phone called Prime will be a completely different device just like K Zoom.

I give it 1 month before unlocked versions of these start popping up in Chinese grey markets at an even lower price considering you can get a grey market S5 for less than $600 USD now.

S5, S5 mini, developer, prime, round. How many S5s can Samsung produce? How about royale, deluxe, supreme, limited, max? I told my sis to buy a Galaxy. She looked them up online, got so confused, she just bought an iPhone.
